Today I noticed many of my items inventory is wrong. Is this a site wide problem? I am going through and checking all my listings, but this is going to take me a lot of time. What if more things sell than I have?

I'm having the same issue. I sold a couple of items today that I knew were out of stock and somehow they were able to purchase them. What a headache to have to re-count everything and try to update the listings.

I'm having a somewhat of a different issue.
mine is i sold the item and it still shows up under "Active" listings but when you click on the item it says i have sold it. But I have had to go in and "end item" because i'm afraid it will sell again and cause "cancel" issues with items not in stock and and it will DING our performance board. and live chat isnt working

I wonder this as well in regards to the paypal fees. I politely asked paypal for a refund on one of mine and got rejected. Sales are already down a bunch due to this virus situation, and now this to add on top of it.
Yes, unfortunately PP doesn't care. They are a service based business and they are no longer part of Ebay, so it isn't something they would do for sellers.

I'm not surprised w/ PP 's response. It is an eBay problem , so why should they have to clean up eBay's mess? I've contacted CS on twitter and FB -- they are oblivious to the problem and one had the nerve to ask me to wait " until the virus is over and phone support can be established". Tagging the blues seems to only confirm that they know now there is a HUGE PROBLEM-- affecting those w/ large inventories and multiple variations. Having to recount all inventory and redo the listing is a huge time consuming burden put upon sellers. The least eBay can do is refund those PP non refundable fees and remove any neg. feedback sellers incur due to this technical glitch. There is no mention on the systems nor any mention on general announcements. Once again, it was the sellers who found the problem, had to notify eBay, and figure out a work around. ( sorry for the rant but I have a friend and a family member who are hospitalized and am taking care of their 3 toddlers, 2 dogs , and the sweetest hedgehog while trying to be a full time grad student who hates the virtual atmosphere of learning -- I need to be in the lab-- and not spending hours fixing ANOTHER TECHNICAL PROBLEM). OK, I feel better -- TY!!

Well, I was able to restore all of my inventory to the correct levels thanks to the Quantity Manager app (https://www.qtyman.com/)
I've been using this app for a long time and they had a backup copy of all my inventory. They instantly restored my inventory to the correct levels! Obviously this won't work for you if you didn't already have the app before the problem happened, but I'd highly recommend getting it in case of future problems!

To add another layer to this problem, it seems to be affecting sales history too (only on mobile app)! I’ve noticed that for whichever listings this glitch has been happening to, when I view them on the mobile app, they are now showing as having 0 watchers and 0 sold. Are you guys having this problem as well?

Brian - will you provide us an update on this error and resolution? I have >1000 listings and its near impossible to have to re-audit inventories on my own. Thanks.

Same problem here. When I try to revise listings to correct inventory count, I lose my the search placement I used to have. What a nightmare. Hope eBay can fix this immediately. With all the problems the virus situation is causing I don't need this problem too.

Is this problem the same after a few hours? After the system reindexes your listing as it does when sellers make a change on a listing.

We had our affected listings recover after the glitch. They're selling well and made their way back to the first page within 24 hours.
The glitch seems to no longer affect our business account when revising. Inventory and sales variation history were not restored. We restored inventory manually the day the glitch happened.

Listing No 401400694591
Sold at noon today. Head each variation in at 1 available except for the tester which was 0. Sold 2 of the 6.7 oz size when I should only have been able to sell 1. The photo shows the available numbers AFTER I made the 2 sales. Not good! I'm just glad that they were both in stock.

Same here. Right now editing listings doesn't erase sales history back to zero. It also doesn't seem to be causing quantities to glitch anymore. But the biggest problem for us is that sales history hasn't been restored. For example, I have something has 25 total sales since being on eBay. This glitch happened last week and I've only sold one since then. The listing on mobile app is showing '1 sold" as opposed to "25 sold". So at this point , total sales history has not been restored. Hopefully they will be able to restore this.... Otherwise I'm not sure which sales history is being factored into the search results - the 'true' sales history, or the 'inaccurate' one that is showing after the glitch?

Hi @shopsquared, I have updated information and I'm happy to share it with you 🙂 The root cause of this issue has been fixed, meaning quantities should remain as they are unless a seller intentionally revises the quantities. Listings that were impacted by this issue will have their quantities reverted back to what they were prior to this issue. However, if a sale or revision has occurred after an item was impacted then we will not revert the quantity.
