when i'm doing some searches. every item i click on opens a new tab. it's FREAKING REDICULOUS !!!!! How do i stop this. i've been looking for days now but cant find anything.

Well, it seems this is not only an issue for me. This is quite disagreeable. Clicking any search result opens the listing in a new tab. Going back to search results returns back to the top of the search results and not to where I was in the search results. This is happening in both of the browsers I have installed on this PC. As this does not happen with other links it would appear not to be something I can change as it seems specific to eBay.
I do not like this.

What a horrible idea. Totally goes against logic. Why even have the "back to search results" button if it doesn't take me back to MY search results?? Makes you wonder what they were thinking. These same people also want access to your checking account. Yikes.

nope, I'll quit using Ebay

Started happening to me as well. Makes it impossible to browse. Guess e-bay doesn't want users!

Can you call them and ask them to correct it? It is happening to me also today 10/12/21. If many people call, they will address the issue. I will call also. Go to chat if you can't find a way for them to call you, but just type in "Call me" in the chat box (because chat is not with a real person just an automated machine person) and they will give you the option to put in your phone number and Ebay will call you within one minute.

Ebay, please make this go away. I just wasted an hour of my life thinking I had a **bleep** virus.

This just started for me this morning. I'm hating it already. Been on 'bay over 20 years.

This has also been a problem for me across 2 different browsers. Not able to fix so will contact eBay as suggested. A right royal pain...

spell much?

Started with me as well a few days ago - only happens in 'saved searches' - using Firefox but happens on all platforms. Have to use Ctrl W to close.

Same for me, really annoying, the problem seems to limited just to ebay and just to the 'back to search results' link. This does not seem to be a general problem related to your browser or its settings. I have found a temporary solution which is not a fix but more of a workaround. After viewing an item do not use the 'back to search results' link, instead go to the top of your screen and CLOSE THE TAB at which point ebay will jump back to where you were browsing in the listings WITHOUT creating an additional tab. If you forget to do this and accidentally click on the 'back to search results' link do not worry, ebay will send you to the top of the page you were viewing, but you can still CLOSE THE CURRENT TAB from here and ebay will return you to where you were browsing in the listings. HOPE THIS HELPS

Same here started opening new tabs with every item I wanted to look at but could not just click the back arrow because it is not available for use in eBay to return to the item list I was looking at, going back to Amazon...not much better but eBay needs to turn this OFF

eBay obviously doesn't care how users feel about the crappy aspects of their application. That's how monopolies roll.

Me too, **bleep**?
Ebay support as much use as a chocolate fire guard - not a clue!

Hi everyone, I just thought to let you all know, this is not an issue from users nor it's a mistake from eBay, they simply do this nasty behaviour in regular basis to index the website further onto search engine, it's dirty way to scam search engine and make it look a like eBay has billions of users and everyone on planet earth searching and using eBay all days and night, there's no solution our end I am afraid, however eBay will return to normal after a few days but they will do it over and over.
All the best
