I can't get rid of the things. When I edit the listing and fix it, once I save it's inserted again at random points in the listing description. I tried creating a different listing description from scratch and it still did it. I have stuff to get done today and this is frustrating the hell out of me.

Virtually all of my listings are affected by this. My listings look like a 9 year old composed and formatted them. I haven't had any sales in weeks, so now I know why.

I doubt the bold font has anything to do with your lack of sales.
There is a ticket open for this issues it is ALERT15856 and is currently being worked for a resolution.

You sell ebooks and I sell high end laboratory equipment. While formatting might not matter much to you, it's essential to retail and successfully sell very expensive items. Nobody is dropping $5000 on a listing that looks like it was written by a child.

I completely understand your frustration, I’ve been trying to find a workaround of this issue for 8 hours now. The issues go beyond just the description field; I’m seeing parts of the tool glitch in and out, appearing and disappearing randomly. I’ve tested across multiple accounts, browsers, and devices, and the problems are consistent everywhere.
The new listing tool is an absolute disaster. I’ve been selling on eBay since its early days, and I never had a single issue with the old tool. This one seems to introduce a new glitch daily, sometimes minor, but frequently significant enough to cause major disruptions. Losing multiple work days every month due to an unreliable listing tool is simply unacceptable, and in the past year i've lost no fewer than 5 per month.
What surprises me most is how little we’re hearing from the broader seller community about this. While I can appreciate some of the visual improvements of the new tool, functionality matters far more (far far far far more) without that, the entire tool is worthless. Unless we come together as sellers and make our voices heard, eBay has no real incentive to fix these ongoing issues beyond putting a temporary bandage on it.
At this point, we need a collective effort, a seller coalition or group, to demand real, meaningful improvements. eBay continues to nickel and dime sellers only to waste our money building features that don’t even work properly, if even at all. I’d take one fully functional tool over 50 broken ones any day.

Yes, it's awful. Same for me. I'm very experienced. Even cut paste from notepad won't work today. Awful looking listing text. Here is an example, I bold one word and everything after it turns bold.

I thought the same thing.
In fact, in addition to the “b” (bold) problem, there is also the issue of line breaks with “div,” which I used to replace in html with the “br” tag, so for the past few days eBay has also been replacing the b in “br” with “strong” creating the useless “strongr” html tag.

Where is the response from eBay? This is a sitewide ongoing issue! It should be a priority fix!

and as such it's priority for them to ignore sellers as much as possible. Priorities of this company revolve around everything and anything that's not priority , useless and non-needed. Being this issue started at dawning to the weekend, know for sure no one will even be required to work the weekend on the problem - that they created. That's your store fee being put to good use.

I don't sell ebooks. I sell audiobooks. Sales are down for a majority of sellers regardless of how font looks in a listing.

WHY is this hard to fix???
like someone pointed out earlier........ its the <br>... it now comes up as <strongr>
they stuck 'strong' in place of the 'b'
eBay butchered it recently for some lolo lame reason...
so NOW it mess up the <br> brakes, and makes the <strong> Bold take over everything below this...
with my listings... they ALL have alot of different size fonts and certain people place name highlighted with bold in the sometimes longer historic descriptions.
I CAN NOT list anything Until this is fixed!!
I can only sell/list 'something similar', as long as its only changing the pictures.. which is like 2 out of the 50+ Ive missed listing so far...
