For the last few days when my browser automatically loaded eBay as my preferred site I keep getting errors. I changed my auto load page to Etsy and have not had any problems with their site, Google or any other site. Just eBay.
Also when I use the Internet drop down list to go to eBay I get the same error messages. The only way I have been able to access eBay is through outside items such as items sold and various other assorted items. This is getting really tedious when I need to list, promote and ship items.
What's going on. Is anyone else having an issue?

Yes, I totally agree!
I'm trying to alert all users, but especially the Seller's who post and read here (and eBay, but that often falls on deaf ears).
I'm a Buyer not a Seller and I know there's a demographic within eBay that still uses IE (I'm one of them). I fully agree that many users will get frustrated and walk away, reducing bids for Sellers.

Appreciate the info you provided!
I'm a former High Tech Manager, so I'm familiar with all you mentioned, but others may not be. I'm on Windows 7 and IE and don't have the issue with any other e-merchant site (or any other website). I shop at many online sites and don't run into any of the Technical Issues that we all see daily on eBay.
My posts here are meant to confirm I'm experiencing the same problem, when it started, and most important ..... that Sellers will suffer the most, as a certain percentage of eBay Customers (or potential Customers) won't be bidding if they can't access the site.

Hi All,
I have the same Ebay with Internet Explorer problem since yesterday.. one funny thing though..
I live in Europe and so have/use several Ebay-Domains.
Home Page and wrong Login issues are ONLY on Ebay.com and Ebay.co.uk (so english language problem?!)
When I go to Ebay.de, Ebay.nl, etc No problem whatsover...
Btw, Ebay canada works too
So what the problem is???

Based on what everyone is seeing and reporting and what sadly we already know ..... the problem is eBay has an inept Software Design Team.
Leadership needs to read what's posted here, so they can match the Technical Issues and Negative User Experiences with their Quarterly Numbers (the "real" sales numbers, not the revenue squeezed from Sellers with new fees, which offsets reality).

I have reported this to eBay twice this week. they don't seem to care if you ( a seller ) are loosing customers or not. but, they do seem to keep charging me for the one's that are able to get on the site. I have shifted most of my sales to craigslist, facebook market place and Amazon.

I've also reported numerous times to eBay Concierge (which is just CS Reps. in the U.S. telling me the same thing that Reps. in the Philippines and other locations tell customers).
I've been an eBay customer and frequent Buyer since 2010 and have purchased hundreds of items from many Sellers. I was hoping to set up a Seller's Account this past month, as I have many things to sell in anticipation of an upcoming move to another State. I would never consider selling on eBay now and aside from one or two purchases from a few great Sellers, I intend to not be using eBay anymore (unless these issues are addressed and Leadership steps-up to apologize to its Customers).

New question….. Why is the eBay homepage the only page affected?
My work around for this is to click on one of the items I have sold. We get an email every time we sell something on eBay (usually). From the sold listing I can access the seller hub, labels, the discussion boards, etc.
I do not receive any error messages on any other pages within eBay.
By the way I checked some of the stats regarding how many people in the US are currently using IE (Internet Explorer) as a browser. Varies between 7.5% and 13.5% for January of 2019. Also checked stats on daily access of eBay. Varies between 1,500,000 and 1,750,000 per day. The math would indicate that between 112,500 and 131,250 buyers and sellers are affected on a daily basis by this.
Not a problem, right?
Am I supposed to use a different browser because eBay says that’s the best solution? Been hearing that line for a while, along with the classic…. We’re doing this so you can have a better selling experience and make more money. (for them or me?)
How many people don’t realize that according to eBay they are using the wrong browser?

First, Many Kudos to you for providing the IE statistical info!
I have a Tech background (not Software), but I still know a bit about programming. Every page is unique and code varies for all. I've had other problems on other eBay pages/processes recently (i.e. Watch List photos not displaying, Return Item photos not displaying, and on and on).
Clearly this issue needs to be addressed by eBay very soon.

There seem to be a number of problems relating, perhaps, to IE...... can you give us a definitive answer as to whether it can be used successfully on Ebay with no problems? Are these are short term glitches or inherent?
Thanks

It is not just IE - I use IE on this computer - Firefox on the other - same problem on both. Seems to be limited only to the eBay Official Site home page, and we are now on Day 3.
I've been selling on eBay for 19 years and now have four accounts - this is the first weekend in my memory that I have had zero sales on all my accounts, and March is typically my best month for sales of the year.

Probably because it's specific to eBay. Maybe a minor software change on their part, maybe a server issue. See my other post for interim work-arounds.

Agreed. I too have a software development background. The "symptoms" are very specific to eBay ... specific browser only (IE11) at specific location (eBay home page only).
See my other post for current work-arounds.
I've also posted on Microsoft Tech forum (just google for IE11 not working on eBay home page) & you will see there are others.
It's very specific to eBay & the solution must come from eBay. No reasonable person would expect Microsoft to program a custom fix just for eBay because eBay is too inept. But many of the known work-arounds arose from my posting on the Microsoft Tech forum.
Ebay should fix but probably wont ... they want everyone to upgrade browser. And Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade browser. So realistically, we either have to use a work-around or upgrade browser.
I love the statistics from another post but guess that < 15% is probably considered peanuts to eBay.

I am having the same problem !
It is just on the eBay home page.
Something has changed on eBay's end.

bookmarking the sitemap page is a good workaround. I only have the issue on the Homepage.
