Where have all the sub-menus gone for the shopping categories on eBay.com?

All sub-menus for shopping categories have disappeared.

The listing sorting box (newly listed, lowest price, etc) has also disappeared.

Why?

They are still present on other eBay sites such as eBay.com.au, but not on eBay.com

I'm seeing them fine........using firefox.  I would shut down your browser and reload it..........  sometimes they go bonkers.......if that doesn't work try a different browser........and clearing cache, etc.

Actually, I just solved it by clicking on 'Advanced' in top right corner of eBay screen, saw all the listing search options as per usual, and then for some reason I decided to click on SEARCH at bottom of that page...

As if by magic, I was then returned to the previous shopping page, and suddenly all the sub-menus and sort options were restored!

So then I opened a new Firefox tab, clicked on my usual eBay shortcut to see what would load...and it was the dud page missing all the menus again. So I deleted that shortcut and made the page with all the menus restored my new shortcut page to eBay.

I have no idea how this glitch happened. But I'm glad I found a way to get things back to normal. 

I guess computers do crazy things sometimes! 🙂

Yup, it's still misbehaving for me too. Each time I do a new search, all the category sub-menus disappear along with the sorting options. If I click on Advanced, and then click Search, everything returns again. 

Have cleared cache, etc. Makes no difference.

Even though I've found a 'workaround solution', it's a bit of a pain.

You say you are using Firefox? Are you using any fancy Ad-blocker element-hiding rules? I've unintentionally wiped out menus that way. You might try restarting your browser with Add-ons disabled to test.

If the menus are correctly rendered consistently when you open the same window in a new private window, that might indicate an issue with your Firefox profile (if you've ruled out cookies or cache).

I also seem to recall seeing a similar issue discussed in a forum thread -- I think it involved Chrome when used with certain sized windows and resolutions. Some of the menus would disappear. Possibly changing the text size or window zoom helped in that case, I think.

No.

It's the same in Firefox and Chrome. Makes no difference. This problem is only occurring on eBay.com, none of the other international eBays.

I just cleared my Firefox cache again, and this time all the sub-menus on eBay.com are working normally.

*sigh*

Oh well, fingers crossed it stays this way now.

Are you sure you werent on a page with 0 results? I've noticed those dont have sort options and category menus.

Haha, no, normal pages - just not functioning properly. Cleared cache, and problem solved.
