What happened to Categories?

Where did categories go? In my store and others I visited, there aren't any categories on the left side. Just a list of seller's items. If a seller has 1,000 listings total, and two in a category I'm interested in, I would have to slog through 1,000 listings to find the two items. 

To be clear, I found an item from a seller and clicked on it. Wondering what else they might have, I clicked on Seller's Other Items and here is the problem. I get a list of seller's items. There are no categories on the left side, no 3-bar icon for categories. It is just a list of items. 

Is this a glitch? 

Is this a change?

eBay did something and the filter list on the "items for sale" page is not working at the moment. eBay has been notified and the developers are working on fixing it.

It is still possible to search by category on a seller's store page if the seller has a store:

Click on the "Categories" button in the upper left.

A category link is visible for sellers without a store as well if  you click on "Visit profile" after clicking on "Seller's other items" from one of their listings.  If it's a saved seller with or without a store you can click on that seller then "Visit profile" to get a category drop down link above the listings.

I called yesterday to report the problem, before going here. Customer Service rep took me through steps to modify my store layout??? I called again today, seemed to be understood, was told nothing on this has been reported, that they would create a report. I don't doubt you when saying developers are working on it. It just shows how informed and updated Customer Service is (isn't).

To be fair to to the customer service reps, I do not know how much information they get from developers regarding new and ongoing technical issues like this. By the time new information reaches the customer service reps from official sources, the problem will likely have been fixed. At least one hopes.

The community boards like this one are much better suited for quickly sharing informal info about these sorts of technical issues, though it would be nice if someone at eBay could provide some more timely official (or even unofficial) updates here as well.

The category is listed but now it is all the way at the bottom.  See the little screenshot.  This is not an improvement by any reasonable thinking so why would they do that and the only reason I can think of is to  force users to scroll past dozens and dozens of ebay suggestions of "other items you might be interested in." 

A real improvement would be to fix search and have tutorials on how to search.  It's never been as good since they removed the wildcard.

To anybody frustrated by category breadcrumbs being removed from the top of the page, click the ? icon on the lower right of the page and use the submit feedback link. Ask eBay to restore the category path at the top of the page.
