Unable to link my PayPal

Okay, so I went to "my eBay", then the "account" tab, then selected" PayPal Account".

I selected the button that says "Link my paypal account". It takes me to a page to login to paypal to link the accounts.

After I log in I get a message saying

"Youre almost done linking your accounts. You have successfully signed up for PayPal with a credit card" 

underneath this message is a button that says "return to ebay"

i click return to ebay but when i try to list my item I am still getting the error message that I do not have a paypal account linked.

Why in the world isit telling me i signed up for paypal with a credit card? I am trying to link accounts....i am following ebays instructions to a tee. i have even watched a youtube video and followed the instructions precisely!! i see other people have been having this problem since 2015.....all the suggested fixes (different browser, clear cache, have paypal and ebay open at the same time, etc) do not work. Can I just not use ebay now?

I do not want to mke a new paypal....this account is verified and has my ssn, bank account, credit cards, my email. it wont let me link half that stuff to another account, even if i close my current one! they say they will, but it doesnt work. ive been through that nightmare before.

Not everyone has multiple accounts to avoid fees. Some people have different accounts for different niches

So my mother-in-law and I have been trying to update her ebay account with a new paypal account. This had to happen because her husband passed away and the old paypal account was linked to his email so she needed a new paypal account with a new email address. It's been over 4 hours now and after reading these posts we finally went into that payment options/Buy it Now (mention in a previous post-thank you sooooo much) section and realized that all the listings still had the old email from the old paypal account. Once we updated the paypal email account we were able to complete transaction. We had to go back and change this for all items she is currently selling, but now all is good!!!!

You're lucky.  I can't find this button.  It looks like this button of sorts exists for my Buying account that I don't really use with this user name, but not for the Selling.  I am jumping through the hoops, wasted countless time with both EB and PP, and to no avail.   It's all because I changed PP email at one point, but now changed it back to no avail.  Can't receive funds for the recent sale.  I guess I'm done with eBay at this point.
