Some of my items have an inability to be searched for through the ebay system

I've tested this out multiple times from my own account and my friends have tried as well, and there are quite a few of my items that cannot be searched using key search terms, even if you type in a few of the words exactly in my title, nothing pops up. I called ebay support, and they said there is a situation in ebay where some of the sellers items cannot be searched for. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue. For two days now, I have sold only two items, which is very atypical.  It's getting very frustrating because of course they won't reduce my fees for the days they don't allow my items to be searched for, meanwhile i'm not making money off of any of my inventory.  They did say they put my name on a list of people who are having the issue, but apparently still, not fixed.  Any insight on what I can do?? ( i was told by ebay support to go in and mass revise my listings, changing one small thing, then change it back, and go check again, and when I did that, I changed my shipping time to same day, then right back again to one day shipping time, and when i went back in, the mass revision changed all of those listings to 'no returns'.... so I had to go change that back again to accept returns, and still not resolution to my actual problem)

The ebay customer service has no solution for me. Here's a pic of what mine looks like, over 2 thousand listings, only 400 and some change showing....

Still !!
Yep here is what I show in your store now
Can't imagine they can't help you with this, Prehaps they can offer you a store refund for the month!!!
I'd be upset paying my store fee and having it not showing over 1000 of my listings

Noticed if I unlist, then relist the items, they show up now.  Well, that's going to cost me money, I guess, but if it's the only way to do it and ebay is unwilling to help me at all, then it's my only option.

How are your items listed?  30 day or GTC?  Items that are listed GTC that go unsold for a certain period of time will fall lower and lower on the search index.  If your items don't show up in search, they will be much more difficult to sell.

When I had most of my items listed GTC, I stopped making sales.  It was awful.  Then someone here on the Boards mentioned the GTC/search index issue.  So I cancelled all my GTC and re-listed as 30 days.....almost magically, I began having sales again right away.

Yes, I figured  that issue out years ago, and all of mine are always 30 day, however, the issue is, when I go into my store listings, there is legitimately only 400 items listed, but I have 2 thousand.  They just called me from ebay, and there is still no resulution. They said it was a serious issue, but they don't know how to fix.   I put up photos of the issue i'm having. It's just not showing the majority of my listings in any capacity.

When I click on listings ( under your avatar), I get this:image.png

When viewing the 2200+ listings in your store, if I change the sort to Best Match, I get this:image.png

Re: Some of my items have an inability to be searched for through the ebay system

Thank you.   At some point a few days ago, i got an email stating my account was restricted, but it was a mistake.  I called them and they apologized and fixed it , supposedly immediately. I just got an email from Trinton, and he stated I am still on restriction?  That is absolutely making me frustrated. I've been selling for 18 years, and I've never done anything wrong, I called them and they fixed it right away, and apologized, but apparently it's not wholly fixed?    Thank you btw, for replying, and thank you Trinton for letting me know this is still an issue. I've had nothing but problems this month, and that is definitely not the experience i've normally had with my ebay store.  I have no idea what else to do. I'm at a loss. Thank you all.

I don't think the restriction is what's causing this, tho it may have started the problem........hopefully he will look in again...........doesn't make sense that  I can see 400 item in one view and 2200 in another.........

Thank you thank you thank you!   I'm not a cryer, but jeez, it's almost time. I've been calling customer service for 5 days and no one can seem to locate why or how to fix it.   If someone can do it here, I'd be so grateful!

This is a continuous problem, i had to search for 2 months just to find a special nail polish rack which i didn't have to hang on my friggin wall.

If someone has to put in that much effort somethings are never going to sell.

Ebay is going to have to fix it.......but perhaps Trinton can put some pressure on them.......I would respond to his email and ask him if he's seen those screen shots and reiterate there should be no restriction.........

Yep, just got off the phone with a rep, and she was very helpful, said they are having major technical problems with some sellers and their items not being searchable...it's just most sellers don't know that because sellers don't habitually try searching for their own items. I happened to try it because I wasn't selling anything in my store for a long time, which is atypical of how my store runs, and I got concerned. Apparently it's happening across the board for a lot of sellers. No solution, and nothing done about this yet.

Hi @vorutherford, I just wanted to clarify here on the thread that there is no current issue with member's items not being visible in search. I apologize that you received some misinformation on the phone and will ensure that the agent you spoke with is given appropriate coaching. While I am not able to discuss the details of your account here publicly, I am happy to provide you with an update via email as to why your items are not appearing in search.

General information for everyone else; when listing an item there may be a period of time before it is visible within search results. You can schedule your start times to minimize the effect this has on your listings. Additionally, certain account actions (such as short term selling restrictions or violations of our Off eBay Sales policy) can lead to a suppression of your fixed price listings in search results.

I hope this helps clear up some of the concerns that may have been raised here!

Re: Some of my items have an inability to be searched for through the ebay system

I finally was able to contact a very helpful member of customer service, Dominick, and he stated that he knows exactly what the issue is, and he is fixing it.  He did say it will take 24 hours to fix it.  I do not have a restriction, to reiterate.  I do not.  They did put one on my account a while ago, and they  apologized and 'fixed it' due to a mistake ebay made, however there was an update in the system to fixing the restriction and they did not put my account back online in the correct way in correlation with the update.  Domick did fix it, and said it takes up to 24 hours, so hopefully this will happen in 24 hours. I just wish it had not taken 6 days to get this corrected, and I wish there were more knowledgable ways to fix this. Additionally I wish I had not wasted listing fees in doing the customer service suggested 'please yes take your items offline and put them back online' recommendation, which did not work, and wasted a lot of time, and money.  That part is extremely frustrating.

Well let's see how it looks tomorrow, hope he is speaking the truth for your sake
Also if this was all an ebay mistake then what a shame for what you had to go through !!
Hoping tomorrow when I pop on this board & check that I see your entire store up & running

Good luck

Thank you, and yes, they apologized repeatedly at first, but now it's getting really upsetting. We shall see if tomorrow is the magic day.  Wasting all my money and time was a little bad, but I guess I've done worse.
