Search results have indeed been a bit bumpy for a week or so (21 years on Ebay) - but as of today a fresh search from scratch returns ZERO finds. Tried several times with different word choices. In the last hour went from usable to nothing...?

Same here.

Search has been somewhat unstable over the last two weeks. Most of the complaints have to do with inappropriate keyword matches returning too many results.
But I just checked several of my bookmarked searches, and the results returned appear to be reasonable -- the few that turned up no results seem to be actual cases of keywords not matching any current items for sale, as far as I can tell.
If this is an ongoing issue, can you provide an example of a search that returns no results that should be returning results?
It is possible that eBay has changed the way search works in such a way that searches that have worked for you previously no longer work; perhaps there is a workaround to undo the effects of the change, if so.

It seems that many other folks have similar complaints of searches returning zero results.
If anyone can provide examples of searches that are not working, perhaps there is a common issue that can be overcome.

I signed in on desktop and all was fine, so I deleted and reinstalled the phone app and all is good now

I believe an example would be useless because I typed the same exact words as my boyfriend sitting next to me...my search works and his does not. We tried several different searches and eBay will not let him see anything. Not even previous searches or previous items viewed.

Presumably eBay has a pool of many servers returning search results. If one of them is bad, that might explain the zero results.
Then the question becomes, if you are getting search results from a bad server, can you disconnect from that server and reconnect to a different server? Assuming that several searches in a row give consistent zero results, perhaps try explicitly signing out of eBay and then signing back in?
There may be a geographic component to this as well -- if all the users reaching the bad server are in the same general area.

Same here. Really wish eBay understood, it's hurting it self with "new or make it better idea's" coming from it's own software designers just to keep their job. How about just maintaining a running working platform without continued new updates of false improvements that are really just variants (for the sake of someone having a job). Trim the people from "great idea department" and focus on maintenance. SMH...

@tubetimenow Are using the app? If so try removing it and then restart your phone and load the app fresh from the app store.
Let me know if this works or not please. OR if you are not using the app
The other option is going to be work around using ebay.com on your phones browser and use the classic site OR request desktop site.
