Saved searches not filtering properly

As of three days ago, my saved searches are not working properly on the iPad app. When I go to new results for a saved search, it displays, for example, 90 new listings. But when I filter these results down to either buy it now listings, or used listings, it then displays every listing in existence for that category, not just the new listings. So filtering results in this way will cause the list to go from 90 new listings to something like 13,200 listings. This is making it extremely difficult for me to track new listings. This is happened before, but usually corrected itself within a day.

I have reinstalled the app, and also deleted some of my saved searches and then created the saved search again. This has not helped.

Re: Saved searches not filtering properly

Since eBay is restructuring the way items are listed, you will probably have to save the searches again. This would be a good question for the Technical Issues area of the boards

Re: Saved searches not filtering properly

Thank you for the response. I have done this, and it did not solve the problem. It has been a week now that filtering of saved searches has not been working. I have deleted the app and reinstalled twice, and updated my iPad to the most up to date operating system. Ihave deleted all saved searches twice, and created all new saved searches twice.

The saved searches are working fine on my iPhone, so I am now conducting all eBay business via my phone.

There are many recent dicussions on this board about issues with saved searches not working properly. I am hopeful that this is seomthing eBay is working on and will be resolved soon. I cannot think of anything else I can do on my end.

Re: Saved searches not filtering properly

I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issues as I am with saved search filtering on iPad and iPhone.  It has now been over two weeks since my saved searches stopped working correctly.

To summarize again the issue:

1) I select a saved search that has new results, indicated by the blue dot. It shows me the list of new results only. For example, 23 new results.

2) If I attempt to filter these results in ANY WAY, whether it be to only show buy it now results, or to show US results only, or to show only used items, the saved search loses its focus on only new results, and displays every result for that search since the birth of ebay. So in this example, my listr of search results goes from 23 listings to 14,378 by attempting to filter down the results to a smaller number.

At first, this was only happening on my iPad. I deleted and re-installed the app several times, updated my iOS, even reset the entire iPad, deleted all saved searches and created them all over again (twice).

None of this worked. So today, I deleted all saved searches for a third time, I logged out of my account on my computer browser, deleted the apps on both the iPad and my iPhone, resinstalled the apps on both devices, logged into my iPad app first, re-created every single saved search. Then I logged into my iPhone app and computer browser.

The result? Now the saved searches won't filter properly on the iPhone either.

This is really driving me crazy. I make my living by buying and selling on eBay, and saved searches are my primary method for locating items to invest in. Without them working properly, I might as well find another line of work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Saved searches not filtering properly

Am having exactly the same problem and suspect it’s eBay forcing buyers to view the thousands of rubbish listings from the countless eBay stores that have super low feedback and swamping the search. The genuine sellers are completely flooded out. Have tried also setting the searches to ‘used’ and from my location only and the search still shows listings that are ‘new’ and are from overseas (namely China) It's ruining the eBay experience for a lot of buyers and if it continues this way eBay will become completely useless as a buying & selling platform.
