Re: Oct 18th announcement.

Okay. I just read the Oct. 18th announcement and it pertains to me as a seller of clothing and shoes.  I have noticed that the item specifics on the listings was messed up. Info that I had included in my listings had dropped off. The size field has  is flawed.  The announcement sounds like it said that we don't have to change our listings, but EBAY will re-populate the new format with our old info and when done our listings will no longer be blocked.  I knew there was something going on since my sales completely stopped. I guess my listings are blocked until they get it fixed.

Am I understanding this correctly?  I'm confused.

Re: Oct 18th announcement.

Now I understand what's happened to my sales.   When I check my listings they are missing required item specific fields that were filled in when I listed the item, but have been erased by the EBAY changes made to that section of the listings.  This makes the listing invalid without that required info, so my listings are blocked.  Size, etc.

I counting on EBAY getting this fixed asap and re-populating those fields and unblocking my listings.

We thank you for your continued patience as we work through the issues associated with the Oct 15 Category update rollout.  Our intention is to provide you with as much information as possible and we apologize for any frustration.

The issue we just addressed:

Certain item specifics such as size were missing in the left hand navigation.  The left hand navigation filters are now fully restored with all available item specifics.  Your listings will appear in all relevant search results when using the left hand navigation filters.

What we’re addressing next:

To ensure the required item specific doesn’t continue to appear as blank, we are working to copy the old item specifics values directly into the new required item specific.  For example, in fashion, copy the old item specifics Size (Women’s), Size (Men’s) directly into the new item specifics *Size*. We will provide an update on this on Monday.

 Important reminders for sellers:

  • Your listing is no longer blocked from being re-listed or revised because the required item specific is blank.  Behind the scenes we have mapped the new item specific to the original item specific.
  • Left hand navigation filters are fully restored with all available item specifics.  Your listing will appear in all relevant search results when using the left hand navigation filters.

Next steps for sellers:

We will continue to communicate updates through this announcement board and you can expect the next update from us on Monday, Oct 21.

Until then, you should continue providing all of the required, recommended and additional item specifics as needed. You do not need to revise those item specifics that are appearing blank.

We appreciate your attention to this and as always, thank you for selling on eBay.

Re: Oct 18th announcement.

I read the red highlighted line.  My listings are still blocked. The red only says they are not blocked from being relisted or revised. The listings in shoes clothing that don't show size, etc. are blocked. EBAY changes affected crucial required fields and erased the required info from the listings. My sales went from good to zero. This explains it to me. I hope they it it corrected soon. It has cost me $$$.

"we have mapped the new item specific to the original".  My listings still have those fields blank.

Re: Oct 18th announcement.

Exactly that.  Chaos reigns.  My sales are 0 today...that hasn't happened since the Spring Update.  Coincidence?  /s

I am sorry to hear that you still can't access some of your listings.  I hope they this cleared  up for you this week...like in tomorrow would be good...😶

Also, watch your quantities in your BIN listings.  Yesterday I caught one of my listings (the only listing I had in the clothing, shoes & accessories section of course...) had a quantity of 6.  I never list in multiple quantities so I know that this glitch somehow put a quantity of 6...thank God I caught that.  I can't imagine what kind of headache I would have had if  3 or 4 of those sold...angry buyers, seller metrics down the tubes...having to call CS to try and get it all straightened out...🙄

...sigh...

Re: Oct 18th announcement.

@hurryagain   I'm glad someone else is having a quantity issue.  Thought I had made a huge error when someone bought 6 of an item when I only ever had 1.  So frustrating that it happened and of course had to let them know and give refund.  I'm still in process of verifying others and have had to fix a few so far.

Also had to deal with the sale not being applied to all listings and having to redo SO MANY listings because of missing information.   The information was there but guess now have to put everything in twice.  My listings are in toy type items mostly so it's definitely a bigger issue than just the clothes category.

Sometimes simple is best. Wish they'd realize that;  Or get legit programmers.

Re: Oct 18th announcement.

My suggestion to sellers at this point is to hold off on putting new listings until they get this fixed...unless it's an item that has a very general theme and does not require a whole lot of item specifics.

I would cringe if anything more happens to these listings in the next few days which is why my suggestion is to hold off if you can.

Could you imagine your pics vanishing next?  Or your description disappears that you had to come up with just the right wording for?

If you can...hold off...

Let's hope for a good Monday!
