Promoted Listings being hidden by adblocker on desktop browser again

I've noticed my adblocker (ublock origin) on chrome desktop has started hiding promoted listings again. The top promoted listings will show for less than a second and then just disappear before being replaced by non-promoted listings . If I disable the adblocker or open a browser without an adblocker the top promoted listings show up as normal. Same issue on Firefox. This was a big issue a couple years ago and seems to have resurfaced for some reason in the last couple days. Is it because the adblocker found a workaround or did ebay break something with an update? Pretty ridiculous we pay a premium for our listings to be promoted only to be buried during a busy holiday shopping weekend. Of course, almost all my sales are still hit with the promoted fee... funny how that works.

Maybe it's time to start using an ad blocker while browsing Ebay.

Get tired of seeing all those sponsored ads in the listings.

Have A Great Day.

Not surprising. Ebays glitches reappear from time to time. Year after year. Unfortunately an unstable website.

You would be blocking listings that are relevant to you whether you're a seller or buyer. As a buyer those sponsored listings at the top and middle of search results are often the most competitively priced and come from sellers who take their job seriously. As a seller you should want to know what your competitors are doing and where your actual placement is in search when the platform is working properly. ebay being slow to fix buggy features isn't good for the platform.

Personally I see that as a good thing.

@kensgiftshop I've been able to replicate this issue and to be clear, it's only happening in search results - all those sponsored ads on the listing page are still visible in my testing.

Unless you are using the "Best Match" sort, any sponsored listings appearing in the search results should still appear as non-sponsored "organic" search results, so you may still be able to see all the results (minus the actual sponsored placement).

In the past the filters causing the issue were the "Anti-circumvention" filters in Ad Block, or the ABP filters in Ad Block Plus; not sure what the corresponding filters might be in other browsers.

They finally fixed it.... right after the busy holiday shopping weekend. Of course. SMH.

I spoke too soon... it's broken again. Sigh.

Me too. That way I don't have as many search results to go through. Blocks all the irrelevant ads...

... of course, I may also miss the most relevant search results.  🙄
