Phone Notifications

Recently I have been noticing I am not getting notifications on my phone unless I log onto Ebay. I only have 1 item selling and it sells slow. I am really reliant on phone push notifications that my item has sold. I do not check email often. The past two times I had the random thought to check Ebay, I log onto ebay.com and then all the sudden I get a phone notification that an item sold 5 business days ago with a "shipping overdue". 

I have the ebay app. Why can't it send me notifications? Do I have to keep the Ebay app opened at all times? I know we have the ability in apps to send push notifications even if an app is not actively running.

I send customer gifts to apologize for the lateness but I am blindsided by a lack of information. I am not checking Ebay every day for an item that sells once every 3 to 4 weeks.

This is advice from a fellow seller not ebay. You need to check you ebay sellers page, your ebay email, your paypal email and paypal account each morning if you want your best chance of not having this problem. There are currently quite a few posts this week on people never being notified about a sell by ebay at all. Most are finding out via paypal emails or seeing there is money in paypal. You need to link back from paypal to see which item was actually purchased and im guessing you would have to purchase a label through paypal too since there will be no link to ship it or to whom if ebays system never recognized it.

I recently had the same issue happen with my phone app.  I noticed that the notifications on my app stopped working even though everything looked ok in settings.  What I did in order for them to start up again was to remove the app.  Then I went to the app store and downloaded it back on again.  Now it is giving me notifications again that I can hear and see.  Try this to see if it works for you.

Not getting notifications until the app is opened is usually an indication that battery optimization is shutting down the app notifications when the app is not in use.

I have both the eBay app and PayPal app on my phone. The eBay app usually sends me a notification that they buyer paid the purchase price. Then a second notification that shows the total with shipping cost the buyer paid. Then the PayPal app is good because it confirms payment was received. While others have reported issues with not being notified right away after a sell. I have not has such a issue with the app or website. I would suggest uninstalling the app then reinstalling it to make sure you have the latest version. Also make sure your phone is updated properly. Then if the problems persists the PayPal app should help but always a few hours before your cut off for shipping that day and in the morning when you get up check both eBay and PayPal's website.

If the issue persists with the app you should post in the mobile forum that matches your  phone type and tag a eBay rep.

I will try this out. Cannot yet confirm it is my issue, but feel very strongly this is the case as my phone adjusts settings at 15% and 5%.
