Logged on to eBay to print shipping labels for overnight sales. Confronted with a horrible new interface, but that's okay. They can do all they want to it, AS LONG AS IT WORKS, which it DOES NOT. Cannot purchase or print a label for any carrier, whether using PayPal or Managed Payments money they haven't disbursed yet. Every time I try, I get a stupid message about "Character length can be xx characters in message to buyer" or something very close to that. There was no message to buyer so this is clearly a major bug. Deleted all cookies, cleared cache, history, and everything else. Logged in and out a dozen times. Tried all the carriers. Doesn't matter whether it's in Chrome or Safari. Same thing. Just cannot purchase a label. Called for help, six hours later get a call back telling me, essentially, go buy your labels on Paypal or at the post office. Thanks for nothing. Infuriating. Either they changed the label interface for everyone or they just randomly picked me as a guinea pig beta tester for their half-baked code without regard for my business. **bleep**? TOTALLY unacceptable. Anyone else get this new, non-working label interface recently? And if so, does it work for you?

More info. Found this in the recent fall seller update. They did make me a guinea pig!

I noticed the new shipping interface last week so I suppose I'm a guinea pig as well. So far I've shipped maybe 5 items without issue thank god or I'd be beside myself as well!
I see you've tried different browsers already, but for what it's worth, I use Firefox. My husband is an engineer (very tech savvy) and says there are WAY LESS ISSUES with Firefox...we've used it for about 15 years now and rarely have any issues. It's also way less invasive than Chrome which he despises.
I don't know if this will help you, Dear, but thought I'd throw it out here anyway. I feel for you and I'm so thankful this isn't happening to me.

hello . . . i have similar problem on lables as well. my error message say . . SOMETHING WENT WRONG UNABLE TO GENERATE LABLE. . .and like you ebay tells me to print from pay pal or use chrome browser. . . it dont work. . they should revert back to previous interface and we all can be happy.

Update 6/20: Sold something just now that goes out tomorrow. It's a $5,500 sale which needs insurance and FedEx. STILL CANNOT USE eBay SHIPPING. Still BROKEN. CANNOT use PayPal on this shipment because it needs to go FedEx. Post office is worthless all of a sudden so FedEx is the only option. Trouble is, it will cost me about 50 extra dollars to use FedEx retail (purchase requires insurance). Moreover, I don't want to have to stand in line risking CoVid infection for no reason other than EBAY could care less about this problem. Stuck waiting for my turn in help queue. AGAIN. What a waste of a another beautiful day, sitting here waiting for these morons. THIS IS SO UNACCEPTABLE IT ISN'T FUNNY. You MUST fix this problem NOW. Unbelievable!!! Suddenly, selling here is really not worth the **bleep**.

Thanks. I loaded FireFox and tried it. Same result. Yes, it's way less invasive than Chrome, and faster, too, because of all the overhead Chrome brings along with it.

Dang! Guess it was worth a shot. Feeling really apprehensive as I have a 7lb box going out tomorrow via FedEx. This will be my 1st FE shipment since forced into beta testing - sure as schitt hope it works!!!

Was able to print FedEx label without issue. Why in the world is my Beta testing interface working for me but not you two??? What's the dang difference?

eBay should ABSOLUTELY REFUND YOU the cost difference!!!

I had to get payment and do shipping outside of ebay for one of my customers two weekends ago. Hated to do it but ebay left me no choice. Can't get a callback, cant get anything to work right, so sad. Someday something will come along to knock these yoyo's off their high horse.

I cannot wait, refreshing-pipes. Sick of the way they treat me. Customer Service is a foreign word to them. 16 hours over two days awaiting a callback. Same on the chat session. Worthless. Finally got through the second time. They finally admitted it was affecting others, too. Their advice to me is: Keep trying to print labels. When it works, you'll know it's fixed.
Utterly arrogant and ridiculous. Do they not realize just how ridiculous that is??? Some business partner eBay has turned out to be.

yesterday I had one package to ship out , so not paying much attention I bought my label and shipped I went in today and it said I was overdue on shipping. As I got to trying to figure it out I realize that I had repurchased a label that had been shipped on Monday and had tracking but the new interface said it was the one I needed to print So now it cost me 14 to get the package back plus the reshipping cost and buyer having to wait Last week it put a 10 year old email on a listing and that put a big kink in the works Ended up losing a sale and the buyer getting a ding because no one could fix it
