My promoted listings impressions are decreased drastically in past few days. Contacted ebay chat for help but no solutions or reasons of decrease are provided.

Can anyone help me out? Or it is a glitch? Although my sales has decrease as well? Give me solution Plzz?

@techmedsurgical and anyone else seeing this issue - do you mind sharing what promoted listings rates you use on average?

Several sellers in Motors categories experienced a very similar issue last fall. There were never any really concrete answers except that it seemed most of those affected had previously been at or around the minimum 1% rate and there was possibly a shift in the algorithms that caused that to no longer be effective. Most of those sellers found the only way to get back to the level of impressions they had seen previously was to increase their rates.

All listings are promoted on suggested ad Rates........ Any solution other than increasing the ad rates ?

It is not a problem with Promoted Listings or a question of which ad rates were used. It's a search engine malfunction -- specifically, Title/Description search. The eBay search engine is now ignoring 99% of the information in the description field of our listings. The search engine no longer assimilates that information or reports it in Search results (despite the buyer checking off "Include Description.") Thus, all the description detail we include to attract and inform customers is falling by the wayside.

A large portion of eBay traffic is dependent on the information in our descriptions. But if the eBay search engine is not passing that information along to buyers in search results, all of that traffic will stop cold. And since April 6th, that's exactly what has happened (note how all of the posted graphs show a change on or about the 6th). That's what's causing the drop-offs we're seeing in the Promoted Listings reports (and our sales reports).

If you haven't already, please call eBay and add your name to the list of sellers affected by this serious and urgent problem.

FYI I have been in contact with eBay daily for almost 3 weeks and they have not done anything. It has been extremely frustrating.

Perhaps the other posts from folks on this entire group complaining of slow sales might be due to a faliure of the eBay search engine.

In essence... there are too many signs indicating that eBay is collapsing.

In the past week, our promoted sales are down 50% as well. Calling eBay Customer Support is pointless... since 100% of our returned calls are now from offshore personnel who have to look up the answer to every question that is asked... except for the times when they just "guess" at the answer. For the past couple of weeks, we also haven't been able to talk with anyone speaking English as their primary language. It is extremely difficult to communicate since this move took place a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they're getting us ready for the complete elimination of human customer service reps?

To be clear: at present there is no reason to believe that eBay support personnel have any capacity to resolve these issues.... and eBay management is completely disconnected from our daily reality on the site.

Just wanted to follow up for anyone else having this problem now or in the future. As of 5/7/2021 it looks like my promoted listings have returned. It has only been less than one day but I'm hopeful that it will be back for good. If anyone else is having this problem all I can say is you need to wait it out unfortunately. eBay was unable to help in any way and while I find it hard to believe they didn't know what was going on, they were never able to give me any indication of what the issue was or whether there was a fix on my end. The issue persisted from March 24th - May 7th which was just over 6 weeks.
