Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

I've noticed random items showing that, I just came of vacation last week and thought maybe there was a glitch from that.  I did notice that if I revised the listing the message went away

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

I have this same issue for any item that is currently "out of stock" and eBay's system simultaneously shows the vacations banner:

"This seller is currently away, and is not processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later."

This glitch is driving business away from my store. Just because a specific item is OOS, doesn't me that I don't have hundreds of other items available, but I know some buyers will see the vacation banner and move on to the next seller.Vacation glitch on Out Of Stock items.JPG

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

Started a thread yesterday here:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/My-Account/eBay-is-posting-quot-Seller-is-currently-away-quot-on-my/m-...

additional post here:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/quot-This-seller-is-currently-away-quot-message-displayed-Only...

I have also contacted eBay by phone and opened up a support ticket.

SR#1-278285749416

If you keep items on the site with 0 stock until they are available to relist, I suggest that you should contact ebay by phone and report the issue.

No other reports had been made at the time I spoke with him.  Rep was able to recreate and verify the sporadic nature of the message popping up only part of the time when refresh was pressed.

Additional iformation about the issue:

The message sticks around for about 5-15 minutes after my item's stock level has been changed from zero with file exchange.

Zero quantity items do not show up in searches, but buyers of the item and external links to the site can access them.  This can lead to confusion with a buyer who clicks on an item they bought only to "discover" they bought something from a seller on "vacation".

More wasted time spent informing the buyer that we are not on vacation and their item will ship within our "listed" handling time...

or lost sales as the random buyer arrived from some random search engine and while you are out of stock on the item they are looking for, perhaps they needed something else.   Unfortunately the "This seller is currently away" message encourages them to just click the back button, leaving a seller who is open for business, as well as eBay!

Thanks all for posting about this - the good news is the team was already aware, thanks to the reports via Customer Support but I was able to find out they are working on fixing it now. No ETA for the fix but it's definitely prioritized.

Thank you!

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

I just noticed this and it is 4pm eastern time. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one, but I'm not happy that it hasn't been fixed. Since it seems to have been happening all day. I see they're "working on it", hopefully this is resolved soon, because it does cost us sales. Thanks

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

I also noticed that a if buyer happens to have a few items in their cart and just one of them goes Out Of Stock, then, at checkout, eBay's system displays for THE WHOLE ORDER that the seller is on vacation.

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

Exact same situation here.  The past five days I continually see listings showing "seller away and not currently processing orders"... a few consistent buyers have let me know; my guess is most buyers just click to the next seller.  It is hard enough to keep up with the complete chaos going on with the USPS situation, this adds another layer of difficulty.

Thank you for posting.  I am  hoping there is resolution.  ASAP.

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

Same issue here...2 regular customers contacted me and sent screen shots.  Who knows how many customers just moved on to other sellers.  I'm waiting over 2 hours now for a call back from Ebay, but meanwhile my holiday weekend sales are compromised?!!

When i asked for a call back as a seller they told me 51 minute wait.  Tried again as a buyer and they said 1 minute wait but since a prior call was pending they couldn't put through another.  Still waiting...

Re: My Store Is Telling People We Are ON Vacation ... WE ARE NOT???

I noticed that Out Of Stock items in a cart STILL show the vacation banner glitch, but they will no longer show the vacation banner on the item listings page. This is still a huge issue since a buyer may choose to not buy anything rather than just removing the on item that is Out Of Stock.
