This odd and so far unfixable behavior started happening this morning. Create a new listing, paste in HTML as usual in the description field (after selecting "show all options", "see more options", and ticking show HTML box .. thanks Ebay for the unilateral decision to limit html and make this an excruciating and time wasting 3-click process), click to the next field and the page auto refreshes itself clearing the description form but leaving all others with their form data. Tried pasting data then changing to 'normal' description which shows the properly rendered HTML but as soon as you click outside the form or into another form same result: auto refreshes and wipes the form. Attempted fixes: multiple browsers all duplicate the issue, purge cache etc has no impact, reboot and error persists. Same system, browser, etc to create listings all last week, no problem.. and first time this has happened. One interesting note: opened an old draft listing that already contained HTML and deleted/pasted new HTML in did NOT create the error. Opening the existing new listing from drafts and re-pasting DID create the error. Just to test, pasted in the old HTML from the draft that worked into a 'new' listing and same result Auto Refresh + clears the field .. so it is definitely NOT attributable to the HTML code itself and an "old" listing doesn't recreate the error. Current changes under the hood? Unbelievably frustrating as I am now at a stand-still and can NOT list product! Called customer support which obviously can't help, any IT or tech support people are walled in and there is no chance to talk to them .. I am told they will submit a ticket and I should get an email. Hate to hold my breath for that. Anyone else experiencing this behavior??!!

One thing you might try.
You mention that adding the HTML to an old template doesnt show the problem but a new listing does.
Could you try creating a new listing, adding just "hello" to the description text, then save the listing as a draft?
Then edit that saved draft and paste in the HTML and see if it works.
There may be a validation running in the form for new listing that is somehow not affecting edit listing

Thanks for the suggestion but I can report that does not work. Btw, I neglected to mention in my original post that I can type text into the form with no problem and no auto refresh when moving to the next form. The problem is specific to the HTML form.
As I write this a huge annoying Ebay popup is asking me "how they did?". You did terrible.

**Update
For anyone who might run into this currently unresolved and maddening bug I've found a work around at least in my case. As stated in another post I have an old draft that does not exhibit the behavior. While the kind suggestion from @chris13 does not work, utilizing "sell similar" from that listing and creating a 'new' listing based on the old works and does not reproduce the problem. It also works going forward by continuously 'selling similar' with each new listing. A little extra work as I have to clear photos and some forms but choosing a new category at least resets the sometimes lengthy middle section. And at least I'm listing product!
Inexplicably, creating a 'similar' listing based on the old one works as usual.
As of this time the problem in creating a fresh "new" listing and having the description form wiped after pasting HTML persists and is UNRESOLVED. No contact from Ebay tech support .. go figure!

I tried the same in my Firefox on Win10.
1)
New listing.
Open HTML editor.
Keyboard Paste code.
Click outside or click another field - code remained.
2)
Sell similar from one of yours.
Open HTML editor.
Keyboard Paste code from your listing.
Click outside - code remained.
Click another field, code remained.
3)
New listing.
Add some item specs.
Open HTML editor.
Mouse Paste code from your listing.
Click outside - code remained.
Click another field, code remained.
Switched from HTML to standard view, code remained.
Mouse paste and keyboard paste can be significantly different as far as registering. I tried both. Both worked.
Are you still having this problem, or was it something transient from this morning?

This is still a problem but I have found a temporary work around. Apparently it's not happening to all users but others are reproducing the same problem https://community.ebay.com/t5/Share-eBay-Technical-Issues/Unable-to-edit-the-HTML-section-on-listing...
thanks for your response

I'm having the same issue as we speak to all new listings for couple of days now using my pre-created template for all of my new listings and is so annoying as I write half of my description to get refreshed and deleted at certain point, same issue happening when I open the HTML window.

I've just noticed that after I click "Revise listing " and go to the editing page:
Open HTML editor.
Keyboard Paste code.
Click outside or click another field - the code remained.
Clicked "Show HTML code" a couple of times - the code remained.
Clicked "Allow offers" - The field took a while to load so I waited for it to show - the code remained.
Clicked "Add volume pricing" with no problems with loading the option - the code remained.
Clicked"Allow offers" on/off till the field loaded then double-checked to see if the options were loaded - code remained.
Clicked off both "Allow offers" & "Add volume pricing" then pressed "Revise it"
Worked now on several of my listings so this works for me ATM.
They should fix this issue, such a time-wasting experience this has become.
Anyways I've noticed that if the "Allow offers" is not loading and this hasn't loaded and you press "Revise it" it bounces back to the top.
If you wait for "Allow offers" to show the image below then "Revise it" it seems to do the trick.
Hope this helps someone

Sometimes the "Allow offers" just doesn't load and you can press "Preview" and see that the code hasn't worked. Really don't know why it works on some listings but not others.
