Item does not ship to you

I am both a seller and occasional buyer. 

Today as a buyer, I received an offer that says in the shipping "Item does not ship to you." The seller is in the US and my shipping address is also in the US. This also means that I do not see the shipping charges unless I go back and view the item.

As I seller, I am concerned that my potential buyers are seeing the same thing. I have sent out many offers and I usually get sales from them and now nothing. How can I tell if the buyer is also seeing the same issue when I send out offers. I realize that they can still probably accept and pay, but this is probably scaring them away.

Hi,

 

Yes, this is an issue we have been talking about with eBay for over a month on this and a related invoicing issue.  We ship worldwide and have done so with eBay for over 16 years, yet all of our listings as of at least a month or so ago now show a whole range of countries we don't ship to including many of our regular customers.

 

Even if we cancel the old list and totally redo it from scratch as we make it shows worldwide shipping no countries excluded, the second it goes live its shows about 30 countries we apparently don't ship to

 

And unfortunately, it does show at the customer end as we have had our regular customers ask why have we stopped shipping to them.

 

It also extends to other countries where if the invoice needs to have shipping charges added, we can no longer access the send a customer an invoice page it comes up blank.

 

eBay has also then opened unpaid item cases against the buyer where we cant invoice them and they cant pay as a result and left them with an unpaid strike and still charged us the final value fees.

 

eBay then suggested we ask the buyers for their email and send them a PayPal invoice to complete the sale, as soon as the buyer tries to message us their email they get an eBay warning

 

Over 16 years with eBay we have had the odd tech issue and its never been more than a few hours and it is fixed they have been aware of this since April from us and we have been getting told each week they are trying to fix it as fast as possible so far year on year for the same 6 weeks we are down over $20 thousand in sales. Across any of the sales channels, we deal with I have never seen customer service as poor as we are presently experiencing with eBay.

 

From what we have been able to work out it seems to be related to the managed payments and eBay has no idea how to fix it.

 

For any other sellers that have experienced the same and found a workaround or how to get eBay to prioritize fix it please let us know

In terms of how to check go to your listing and click on postage attached is how our now look incorrectly showing we do not ship to .......ebay issues.JPG

Yep, same problem here. every time I go to buy something, it says "does not ship to you", I'm in US and all items I was interested in are in the US. My sales also dropped off to nothing, so I wonder if my buyers are seeing the same thing? tried calling ebay, no resolution there.

As a buyer Ive had the same issue many times when making offers, or buy it now, I get the same message "item does not ship to you". Ive contacted sellers to make sure they do in fact  ship to me, and so far not one has told me they dont ship to me. This is another in a string of ebay glitches which will be blamed on your browser.

I also had the issue of does not ship to you.

I contacted the seller and he said it was all set on his end and for me to contact ebay.

Well he lost the sale and i see it is still listed. Tried to contact ebay all u get is bot to chat to. Bots don't understand any thing unless it is listed for u to click on .

I am a buyer and this past month 6 out of 7 offers I have received from sellers have had the 'item does not ship to you' glitch. I have had the good fortune to work around this with the awesome patience and cooperation of sellers by declining the offer and then the seller has changed the 'buy it now' price to match the offer I received. This would work only if I am the only one to receive the offer. Otherwise, we would have to wait for offer to expire.

I am increasingly frustrated that this continues to be a problem for me and additional work (and possibly lost sales) for you. I have a copy and paste reply now at the ready because this is has become the 'norm' on offers I receive. Let's all hope this get resolved.

When this happened to me last week, I finally told the buyer to forget the Second Chance Offer that he was trying to pay me for, and go for a Fixed Price listing that I generated for him instead. I set it up to start about 10 minutes later, and sent him the link in advance so that he would be able to jump on it as soon as it went live. That worked.

I received this message 2 times in the last 24 hours...and I have yet to buy those items from those sellers due to this message. Makes me a little leery as a buyer. So, I googled it and was led to this page. Seems to still be happening everywhere on the site.

Other buyers have reported they just ignore the error and click the blue accept button. As long as the listing ships from the US and you are in the US it should go through.  The inaccurate error message is an error eBay knows about but has not fixed.

I guarantee your sales have dropped because of this issue.  I am a buyer, doing a little research on this error.  I can tell you, for me personally, when I have seen the "item does not ship to you" in the past, I decline the offer and keep on looking for something else.  My initial reaction was, "what is this seller trying to pull?"  I'll bet that other buyers are thinking the same.  eBay is a competitive market.  If I were an active seller, I'd be upset with eBay for not fixing this issue.  It is absolutely decreasing seller profits.

Agreed and makes one wounder who working for eBay is doing internal sabotage.......

It is costing sellers, and eBay money.

Your profile says "Member since: Aug-04-03 in Canada". If a seller has preferences set to sell to only US  buyers, your attempts to purchase will always be blocked.
