Why all of sudden is Adblock blocking the item description and item specifics? Our buyers who use ad blockers will not know what is happening and why. Buyers are not going to come to the ebay forums to figure this out.
Either eBay changed something or Ad Block Plus did. Or possibly both.
eburtonlab - Would you know what is happening and what the issue is? I know that you had resolved some issues a while ago that adblockers were causing.
I re-enabled Ad Block Plus and I am still seeing item-specifics and descriptions, so possibly the issue has been fixed already, or it may not affect all listings equally. Or changes may be rolling out in stages.
If you are still encountering this, report it to eBay using the "Tell us what you think" link or the "Feedback" / "Comment" / "?" link in the lower right by the scroll bar.
The previous issue was able to be narrowed down to a specific "anti-circumvention filter", so I replied in a thread about that on an ad blocking forum with some details, and eventually the issue was fixed by someone else that was responsible for designing those filters.
The problem is that eBay is constantly changing how the site works, and ad blockers are constantly adding new filters to try to block things that are ads but that don't necessarily always look like ads. eBay makes money from ads, so eBay does not have an interest in making it easy for their ads to be filtered out, though obviously eBay does have an interest in making sure item descriptions are not blocked by common ad blockers.
