Ebay, how about stopping with your own estimated package delivery dates?

Ebay does not need to give buyers their own estimated delivery dates, the carriers have their own stated delivery windows for packages.  They are from the carrier, they are more accurate.  But Ebays estimates are often listed as being earlier/faster than the carriers, to give buyers the illusion they will get their items faster than they actually will, and this leads to more frustrated buyers.  Also ebay estimates are not shown as "estimates" but appear to appear more like guaranteed hard delivery dates.  Ebay also makes no mention of each sellers handling times.

So please stop doing this and causing unnecessary problems between buyers and sellers.  Stop putting your own estimates in and stop presenting estimates as hard/guaranteed delivery dates.  Ebays package estimates are causing problems between buyers and sellers by creating false expectations and ignoring the carriers own estimates, plus sellers' individually-set shipping policies.

This causes harm by straining buyer-seller relationships, increases unnecessary INR filings, possibly causing loss of the sale amount to a seller, more work for ebay to return money to a seller, and makes buyers less trusting of the platform, not to mention more unnecessary headaches for sellers.  And ebay could just show the more accurate carrier estimates and not be involved in this aspect whatsoever, and it shouldn't be since carriers do this on their own for each of their tracked options.

I completely agree. The other day I had a buyer in Guam who was able to open an INR 6 days after date of purchase, due to inaccurate and frankly impossible delivery estimate given by eBay.

Here is an example of a recent sale of mine. The “ship by” date is the same day as first estimated delivery!

But if they stopped doing that, then they wasted all that money on ai and it's been over 30 days, so eBay can't get their money back for INAD.

People claim ai "hallucinates". In real life, when humans just make stuff up, it's called "lying".

Another ongoing issue never taken care of, when it first started I called USPS about "their" supposed delivery date and they laughed and said that is not our projected date, and to go back and tell ebay to deliver their own parcels....as it also damages USPS rep.

Just another marketing ploy which lets the sellers take the heat....
