Hi all,

I'm using my desktop and every single item I have listed tonight has had its item description deleted - I only noticed after going through to double check some listings.

When I revise the listing and save it then view the listing, the description is deleted again.

This has only happened since eBay moved over to the new listing format.

Is anyone else having this issue?

So frustrating!

I saw an answer on the selling board sometime ago, but can't find it....I "think" the problem was a firefox addon..... it wasn't the adblocker, but another one.

I've tried to search for it, but the community search is screwed up. Sorry I can't help more.

Ah.........I found it.....Adblock may be a cause:

We are also going through the same issue on two different stores. I have changed settings, add blockers and even browsers but still the same. It has got to the point ever time an update is rolled out, expect issues for the next few weeks.

According to one poster, both Ad Block and Duckduckgo add-ons were causing issues with disappearing item descriptions when attempting to list items.

Try listing a new item (rather than relisting or editing the description) using the latest version of an unfamiliar browser with no add-ons installed.

Same problem. Emailed customer service but so far zero reply. Not even an automated one.

Not in my case. As my first action, when it happened, I disabled all extension and updated and restarted chrome. Still no joy. Besides, why on earth would an ad blocker block only the details?

There appears to be a conflict between certain browser add-ons and the listing tool.

Try listing using another browser with no add-ons installed.

In my case it was a language and spelling extension called Grammar & Spell Checker — LanguageTool 5.4.3

I was going crazy all day until @eburtonlab suggested it was an extension causing the problem. I do have an adblocker called uBlock Origin 1.44.4 but that wasn't the problem in my case..

I've had both my description and the eBay stock info/photo vanish on me inexplicably while creating a listing. I've been doing this for years, so I'm stumped. I HATE this listing revamp passionately.

What's even more of a PITA is if you go back into the listing to edit 1 character and forget to turn off the offending extensions EVERYTHING disappears and you have to start from scratch!

I used Safari 16.3 with no extensions. A photo was added to the listing, but the text revision was not added. It gets deleted the second that you click the Revise button.

I didn't try with Firefox, but it does the same with Chrome. I chatted with a customer service rep who told me that an item description can't be revised once a bid has been received. Didn't used to be that way. You can add photos, so I took a screenshot of the text I wanted to include and uploaded the photo.
