Is there a problem with eBay? Can't update listing with variations!

Hi, just wondering if anyone else have issues with updating their listing with variations. All I was trying to do was update the quantity on certain items but it's giving me an error message saying there's a problem with the variation.

so I went and redid all my variations, but now it says

Yes! I contacted customer service about it the other day, and they said there is a bug that needs to be fixed.

I'm glad it's not just me! has it been fixed for you yet? I wonder when this will be fixed. 

I called them and they said they will submit a ticket to tech support for me but they are not sure when it would be fixed... they said it's an issue since July but I never had a problem 'til today!

bump - anyone else have this issue? Mine still has not been resolved. Looks like I simply can't do any sort of revision on my listings with 3 variation attributes. I can't even edit title, or add item specifics. It would give an error message when I try to submit changes.

The last time eBay had an issue involving variations, they blocked editing to prevent further damage to the data.  In that prior instance, editing was causing photos to disappear, so eBay blocked variation editing until they could resolve the photo issue.

In some categories, when an item specific is mandatory to the master record, eBay will not allow the same name to be used as the name of a variation group. In your case, it was the group name "Type".  Some categories block "Color" or "Character" as a group name.

When you tried to redo your variations with new group headings, were you able to save those changes, or was that change blocked?

Revision can also be blocked if you have an offer that has not yet expired.

What error message do you receive? Is it only "We're having trouble updating your listing right now"?

I am having the same exact problem.  I have a listing with 20 different variations and I really don't want to redo that entire listing.  I need to change the quantity of an item as I have none left, but the system is showing 1 left so if someone orders it I will have to cancel their order every time which will cost me .30 every time because I can't change the quantity it won't let me save it. I get the error message.

I feel ya. I have 40+ listings with 250 variations each. It would take me mounts to reduce with pricing and photos for each one. It's unacceptable a company this size having so many issues with listings and updating them. It has been going on for a couple months now. It will work every once in a great wow. Mine says Opps.. this is embarrassing but our listening feature is not working @ the moment,  please try again later.  They should be embarrassed.

From what it sounds like, they will NOT be fixing this.  As usual, ebay is leaving it to us sellers to redo all of the listings that they screwed up.
