I can't drop photos into my listing

When I started selling two months ago I could drag and drop my photos into my listings on my computer (Mac) with no problem. Now all of a sudden I can drag them over, I get the green box with the X in it, but when I let go of my mouse to drop it  the picture doesn't drop into the box. Instead it opens up in a big window to the left of my listing. The only work around I have found is to then go to the phone app to open up the draft and pull the photos I have taken with my phone into the listing. It's another whole step and it only works on resent drafts. Not when I want to revise an older listing. I have no problem dropping photos into FB Marketplace ads so it doesn't seem to be my computer. Help! Please.

I have the same problem. Can't load from my Macbook Air, it says something is wrong with my photos, but I can do it from my iphoneX. I would love an answer from someone.

What format are the photos in?

Are you using Safari?

Are you able to drag and drop photos using Chrome or Firefox?

They're in the Apple Photos library and were the same place when it worked fine just a week ago.  I do use Safari but could that be a problem because that's how I open Ebay?

I don't get any kind of an error message. Have you tried calling Ebay?  I've called three times as of today. No luck.

There are some sitewide issues with listings at the moment; not sure if your problem is related, but any sitewide issues could be a complication, and could certainly make it harder to get an answer from eBay.

Make sure your images are in an approved format: JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF, or PNG. Apple seems to like a new proprietary HEIC format which can cause problems.

I do not know if Safari is an issue or not. Often it is easier to try another browser and see if it helps. If the problem goes away when Chrome or Firefox is used, then you can try to figure out what is wrong with Safari -- if it is the browser itself or your settings, add-ons, version or cookies.

This **bleep** is still happening, so annoying.  How hard is it to maintain simple functionality with HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

Why am I paying 25% fees when you can't even maintain simple functionality.  I hate monopolies and mega corporation dystopia crap.

So far what I've found is that when I import my HEIC apple format from my phone to my mac (in the Photos app), in order to be able to drag and drop them from Photos to the ebay draft I have opened in Google Chrome, the original HEIC photo has to be edited somehow. It could be as simple as a little crop, or some type of very minor color adjustment, but when it is edited and the "done" button is clicked, I am then able to drag and drop the photo.

It's super annoying: I try to take my photos in good enough light, angle, etc. so that I don't have to do much, if any, editing at all. I hope eBay fixes this soon.
