What is a CVS card?

Did you buy it on eBay?

Are you sure the numbers are missing?

Did you google CVS card and see how many and where the numbers should be?

CVS is a drugstore chain, the OP purchased a $145.00 gift card for the chain on eBay and believes it is defective.

Usually when a buyer receives a defective item the process is to open an INAD claim on eBay, the eBay MBG is ironclad in most INAD claims. That being said there are some transactions that aren't covered by the MBG and the gift card/code category has some special restrictions that don't exist in most categories. I'm not in any way certain of this but there is a possibility that gift cards/codes aren't covered by the MBG, it might be worth looking into this before opening a claim.

Edit: I just reviewed the MBG and while gift cards/codes aren't excluded as a category there is an exclusion for intangible goods. I take this to mean that if a seller mails a physical gift card to a buyer the transaction is covered by the MBG, if the seller emails the buyer a digital gift card or code the transaction is not eligible for MBG protection. You stated you scratched the back of the card so you were mailed a physical card, you should be protected under the MBG.
