Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

During the last few days, whenever I pay for an item, after payment, it shows Was shucht du, German for what are you searching for?

There have been reports on the seller Board about foreign languages showing up so possibly others are seeing more than just this.

Every time I placed an item in my Watch List, the sign in page showed up for me to sign in, even though I was already signed in.  I place a lot of items in my Watch List and this is necessitating a lot of sign ins when I am already signed in.

I just tried to go to My Ebay and it also required an unnecessary sign in as I was already signed in.

Thank you.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

Just started happening to us again Sunday June 9th.  Tried to read a message from ebay and was forced to sign (though already signed in).  Then went to read the second message from ebay, and the same thing happened.  Did not take screen shots as it would have just been a screen shot of the sign in screen.  Getting pretty old.

There are an awful lot of error messages in a lot of places lately. I'm not sure how far the problem goes with the bad links.

Yes, you are correct.  That message does show up frequently.

Another message is Oops, we looked everywhere and we can't find that page.

Sometimes search brings up no items.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

Well, y'all... it is revisiting us again! I had it happen and finally was able by back paging to sign out and manually delete all ebay cookies and storage plus the weird ebay related foreign language cookies and storage, repeating the process until until I had no more showing up. That worked until this morning - had to "verify" myself with a puzzle captcha 2 times just to get the sign in page to load up and once more to get it to sign in.

Scam? phishing? hacking? or just a glitch like yesterday's saved seller list different from the "following" list, unable to delete, unsave, unfollow unsubscribe to newsletters without repeated log in pages coming up, none of which I signed into, back button is nearly wore out.

@riobobkat

Sometimes when eBay changes the sign-in process, it causes problems for some users; sometimes those problems are due to using an old browser or obsolete  cookies. Many folks are experiencing extra verification steps -- some even have to go through verification to sign out, apparently.

If you are having issues signing in or getting stuck in a verification loop or stuck with a verification page that does not work, here are some general sign-in tips and recommendations:

Make sure you are allowing the sign-in page to load completely before attempting to sign in -- others have indicated that attempting to sign in before the page has loaded can cause problems.

Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies, or try another browser. Make sure your browser allows javascript. VPNs can also cause sign-in issues, so try disabling yours if you use one.

If you still have problems, when you get to a sign-in page again, delete everything in the URL after the .dll part, so that the address looks like this:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Then hit 'enter' to load that page -- that should give you the old pre-Facebook sign-in. Once you have signed in there, if eBay gives you another new sign-in page or verification page, click on the eBay logo to go to the main page, and you should be signed in at that point, at least until eBay changes things again.
