Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

During the last few days, whenever I pay for an item, after payment, it shows Was shucht du, German for what are you searching for?

There have been reports on the seller Board about foreign languages showing up so possibly others are seeing more than just this.

Every time I placed an item in my Watch List, the sign in page showed up for me to sign in, even though I was already signed in.  I place a lot of items in my Watch List and this is necessitating a lot of sign ins when I am already signed in.

I just tried to go to My Ebay and it also required an unnecessary sign in as I was already signed in.

Thank you.

@eburtonlab

Tried another browser and I can definitely say it is not the browser that is at fault.

I got German too and I've signed in six times today.

Thank you; I've been getting German for several days now, at least two.  Others reported foreign languages but I don't know that it is confined to German.

In the past, sporadically, it would go to Russian.

I have not experienced such excessive sign ins being required before.  To a mild extent, yes, but not like this.

That may have been during the period of extensive glitches that an ebay executive apologized for.

I had the multiple sign in issues last night. Every time I would try to move around in Seller Hub, I would have to sign in again. This morning, I could not access Ebay at all. It said server wasn't found. I called CS and they were reporting it as he could not help me. I found a work around as I was able to access ebay from my email. I had a message of a sale and was able to ship it by going that route.

You hit another important point, thank you!  Last week, I received countless it's not you, it's us messages.  Server down, etc.

In recent months, another poster posted that he could not sign in for at least a week.

I usually roll with the punches, like you, and find a work around.  I'm glad you were able to find that sale so you weren't penalized for it.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

Here is an update, This is the truth-I must have been kicked to the sign in page over 100 times today already. Every action I take kicks me there. I have had it. Delete an item--rerouted to Sign in, Refresh page-- rerouted to sign in, submit new listing--rerouted to sign in. I could go on and on. doesn't matter what I do I have to resign in. AND A NEW CHANGE HAS APPEARED ALSO, the last 3 TOTALLY NEW LISTINGS, after I click submit, I get a large box at the top of the listing that says "WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH VOLUME PRICING FOR THIS ITEM PLEASE GO TO SELLER HUB TO FIX THIS" or some stupid message. I don't even use VOLUME PRICING, never have never will. My sales are still crashing because of all this garbage.

Thanks for the update, @ekmadonna

You're right~every action takes you there.  I was reluctant to state it like that.

I've also noticed there must be a slacking off of listing due to these issues because new searches aren't bringing up new listings as they usually would.

I understand your frustration.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

Just tagging. I`ve tried clearing cookies/cache to no avail. I`m using Firefox/ win7. It`s been going on for days. I wonder how many sales this is costing ebay?? Many will just give up. These glitches are way uncool. It doesn`t seem ebay understands the long term effect these constant glitches are having.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

I've cleared cookies and cache, too, and tried another browser.  Still excessive sign ons, with a new wrinkle today.  Items are not going to Watch List and the blue band across the top of the listing doesn't show.  Watch list was cleared somewhat yesterday so it isn't a case of the list being maxed out.

You are right-constant glitches do have a detrimental effect on buyers and sellers, sales, and confidence.

@Anonymous. brian@ebay. alan@ebay

Is tech working on these glitches..  extremly high repeated sign requests and the foreign language issues?

We have been getting reports of these also on the m2m board

Thank you for paging the PTB!  I thought of doing so but was reluctant.

Another issue is you do a search and it comes up "no results".

@castlemagicmemories   That's an app thing..  at least I had no heard of it happening on PC's.

I know that they are aware of that issue and working on it.

The fix though is to delete the app and reinstall.  Then it works again.  How many buyers know this though, we are losing sales because of it I am sure!

Hi @castlemagicmemories, do you have any screenshots we could take a look at? I've heard of this happening before, but it doesn't seem to "stick around" as an issue so is hard to investigate, or it ends up being related to purchases on the DE site, so while potentially surprising, isn't an error in of itself. Happy to look into this further if you have some screenshots and related item numbers for the purchase slight_smile

As for the repeated sign ins, can you give me some more detail on when you are running into this? What browser are you using, what troubleshooting steps have you taken, do you have 2-factor authentication turned on for your account, etc.?

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

Thank you, Trinton.  I'm sorry, no screenshots, and the issues were resolved the day you posted this.  Most likely CS was called at the onset.

Thank you again.

Re: Foreign Languages and Excessive Sign In Required When Already Signed In

It's still happening to me daily. Log in's when responding to a message, ending an item, selling an item. It's all intermittent. I do have the two step sign in and have received errors even signing in that way when I enter the sign in code, it gives me a sorry message and boots me out.
