Ebay website is like an ancient long lost advanced technology

For quite awhile now, the ebay staff is kinda like in a dystopian era where an ancient civilization created the ebay site and has all died off. Now ebay is left with this tech that they have no understanding or knowledge of how to fix and maintain. It's only a matter of time that this tech completely breaks down without proper maintenance. We've all seen these movies... how do they usually end?

Glitches has been exponentially becoming more frequent and severe. I mean look at the disarray the Clothing category is in. One of ebay's largest, if not the largest, categories... and all the sellers are unable to maintain their listings because the development dept doesn't understand how the site works. I mean, there's even a section called "Ebay Fashion"... totally broken.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Re: Ebay website is like an ancient long lost advanced technology

I am having troubles logging on to ebay and listing using my etch a sketch monitor. Every time the desk gets shaken I have to wait for the image to be redrawn. Then about half the time it gives me a partial message that the page could not be found.

LOL!  And my sons marvel when I navigate around my laptop with keystrokes instead of the mouse when typing!  Oh, the days of the first IBM Personal 2 with Monochrome screen ...

I've told it before, but I was in a favorite restaurant some time back (a year or so) and got to talking with the asst. manager - 21 year old owner's son -  about listening to some of the old music they were playing, years back, on a transistor radio.  He asked, "What's that?"  And, he was serious!   Smiley Very Happy

That’s funny. I’ve been using computers since the days of UNIVAC when the first PC’s were DOS based and there was no mouse. EVERYTHING was done with the keyboard and function keys. Anyone remember the program "First Choice"? So when Windows became common and then the mouse came along the same DOS keystroke/shortcuts were fortunately still included and were still available. That's what I knew so that's what I used. (Still do)

I’ve been criticized for “not liking” to use the mouse until I show them how much faster I can do things with the keyboard shortcuts. Their jaws drop. “Old fashioned” indeed!

If that were true, ATT and Comcast would be long gone.

But you know... we've never figured out yet how to utilize the pyramids or Stonehenge the way our ancestors intended 😀

Re: Ebay website is like an ancient long lost advanced technology

Surely eBay will remedy these issues soon, yes ? I am thankful they have customer service representatives, yet many of them cannot resolve issues and end up repeating their script over and over again. I do not want to be rude to them, yet it seems that some issues just do not get resolved. I have lost sales and am losing faith in eBay. I used to love eBay. Let's hope they can remedy the glitches asap. I did not even know they had this community space. Is there any way to EMAIL an eBay representative ? Talking over the phone is going nowhere. Any help appreciated.

There are a handful of "blues" in this board that are reps... I don't even know their official titles since people just call them blues haha. You can page them to take notice of your post. But ultimately it's up to them whether or not to chime in or not.

And as it seems to be mentioned in other posts, the blues chimed in once to one of the posts in the beginning of this recent glitch wave and haven't responded since. The blue said they are looking into it and will let us know if there are any developments. But sadly since then, no one has heard anything from them and the numerous posts continue to rise.

Either eBay hasn't really done anything yet in regards to this glitch outbreak and the blues are intentionally avoiding the "glitch posts", or the blues are just too busy to respond. I sincerely hope it's the latter... but I'm not going to put any money on that.
