For quite awhile now, the ebay staff is kinda like in a dystopian era where an ancient civilization created the ebay site and has all died off. Now ebay is left with this tech that they have no understanding or knowledge of how to fix and maintain. It's only a matter of time that this tech completely breaks down without proper maintenance. We've all seen these movies... how do they usually end?
Glitches has been exponentially becoming more frequent and severe. I mean look at the disarray the Clothing category is in. One of ebay's largest, if not the largest, categories... and all the sellers are unable to maintain their listings because the development dept doesn't understand how the site works. I mean, there's even a section called "Ebay Fashion"... totally broken.

An interesting observation. And probably not that far off the mark. I have seen many 2nd and 3rd generation family businesses fail because the kids did not have that certain "spark" that the founder had.
You may be onto something.

Didn't they say they created the new shipping tool because they couldn't figure out how to update the old one? The new one is completely useless if you want to do more than one label at a time. Working in bulk all of the shipping options disappear. The other day I couldn't even get flat rate envelopes to appear in the bulk version so I had to do the labels one at a time.

Yea that is exactly something I truly believe in when speaking to people about retaining family wealth. I didn't realize the correlation.

What? There's a bulk option? No matter, my stamps.com (although imperfect) runs circles around ebay's shipping tool. Yesterday I was wanting to use ebay shipping for an international priority but decided to use ebay because of the slightly lower price. I tried forever and was unable to get ebay to populate the Priority Mail (not flat rate) option in the "available methods". All I kept seeing was Priority Flat Rates. Finally I just gave up and spent the extra 5 or so dollars to create the same postage on stamps.com in 10 seconds.

I prefer stamps.com too- but I will use eBay if I can get a better rate- like the TRS discount for Priority. Sometimes that 3% really isn't worth the headache of eBay's new shipping tool so- like you- I pay extra and use stamps.com because it's fast, easy and holds shipping data long after it has expired on eBay and USPS sites.
Sometimes when you can't find the shipping method you want on the eBay tool you have to wipe out any preset package dimensions or switch tabs from carrier packaging to your own packaging. That only works with single labels though- the bulk tool for printing more than one label at a time is completely useless.

Rather like the innocuous VCR of the 1990s, with the timer in a perpetual state of flashing 12:00 because no one knows how to set it-😒

Yea me too. But I don't even bother with regular Priority savings... I use it sometimes for international shipping. The discounts are more significant for me to move over. In regards to wiping out the dimension fields and choosing packaging... I've tried that yesterday but was still unable to find it. Made me wonder why the heck isn't there a button to "list all eligible shipping services." All these "smart-functions" have become "dumb-functions" because of the urine-poor execution.

Would that be 'Legacy' programming for the 21st Century?

@gracieallen01 No, that's the mother board for the Commodore 64 that holds all of our listings ...

Well said!! I'm so frustrated right now. Called ebay yesterday and today. Completely oblivious to what's happening and said they didn't know what I was talking about...AGAIN.
