Why does ebay get "like" whent they claim to have fixed whatever technical issues they refuse to detail?

The view counter is beyond broken, while they continue to program more changes while not fixing that which is not. Views on everything I have posted in the last few days go UP, and then later in many cases back down to 1. Up, down, up, down all day long.

As badly broken as the site has become for sellers....and thus buyers, and ebay's bottom line, I'm just going to presume the numbers are 100% phantom and nobody is really looking. For all we know, watchers might be phantoms as well.

So is it 11 views? or 1? or 4? or 6 or 9 or 3 or or or?

Please, ebay, how about halting with the implementation of new features until you actually fix whatever broken ones you claimed to have.

Mine does the same thing. Working not working. Sometimes the numbers are outrageously high. Can we add our own watcher counters to our auctions?

And the nonsense continues today. No clue what to believe any more and how many weeks has it been now since views started going to dashes?

Maybe they think sellers don't pay attention. Granted watching views is about as much fun as watching paint dry, or in this case watching that white wall you painted green keep going back to white but being helpless to stop it.

There are 3rd party counters available, but I can't speak to whether those are even allowed any more as they probably require HTML which is a no-no. Ebay I think also has that option in user settings, but anything that involves using their options, I seriously cannot trust.

So disheartening to see what should be a normal progression in views and then wake up and have it smacked back to 1 or 2. I'm waiting for the watch count to exceed the view count, but since buyers are going elsewhere to shop (can you blame them?) I'd be shocked to see that. Or not.

You're not alone, mine does the same thing. My concern though is not that the View Counter is broken it is what else is broken along with the Counter causing sales to just fall off a cliff. We have no way to know the answer to this as eBay Management pretends that nothing is ever broken and the site is fine.

One thing I have noticed is that eBay items do not show up as often when I do a Google Search - this started happening just over 6 months ago. I have always submitted listings to Google Search and I would always see some of them when researching a new auction find before I would list it - I don't see any of them anymore and have to wonder what eBay did to upset Google Search again.

So, it's not just the View Counter, it's just how much of the eBay site has been corrupted and is just really not working period.

At one point, an item had Views 0, Watched 1... go figure.

The View Page counter isn't working right .

Couldn't agree more...my view counter has been inconsistent for months and doing the app update made it worse. Sending a tweet to @askebay was a waste of time as it was ignored although I noticed buyers having problems were addressed that day...but without sellers you don't have anything for buyers to buy which means BOTH parts are equally important. I dont trust the view counter or the watch counter anymore as neither may be reliable.

Ebay has made a royal mess of the "shopping experience" by thinking they can become Amazon II.

Well the page veiws are working on some of my items , so some have moved through 38 to 65+ search pages with 28 to 80+ views . On my item for sell page doesn't have those number of views . I'm seeing the buyer watch numbers .

I tried to search for my listings in google, yahoo, safari on my phone but even if i put the exact title they just do not appear. My sales are dead so that explains why. EBay trying to convince us that they are working on the issues but i doubt it.

I'm having same problems -- dashes, psychotic page-view numbers. I also got a watcher on a new item without any view at all. Great stuff. Called ebay "customer service." Rep says, yeah, it's an "ongoing problem" -- like we don't know that. But the best thing, when I asked for any kind of fix date, the rep says: "I don't know. We haven't been updated since July 4."

Shock and awe (snark intended). And yet ebay employees here get thumbs up for claiming they've taken care of those issues they refuse to name. Views sure isn't one of them. Thanks for calling...I can't handle them at all any more.

I've called ebay customer service twice on this. Views either just stop working, or start working and then stop. I thought it had been fixed one day last week, I actually had a normal sale day, and then next day went back to no views and very dismal sales. I don't know what to trust anymore. Are my items getting any views? is anyone even seeing them? Sales are just awful.

Agreed. Tried one of my items on 2nd round at 30 days and Google shopping is more than happy to show it, but not here...only a link to my ebay store. My guess because it's handmade and "duh" no ASIN or other product code which ebay claims is necessary, although clearly is not for other sites.

Actually, that's not the case. I googled one of my reel tapes and a competing one shows on ebay, but mine does not show on ebay. There is no "catalog" data for a 1971 tape so ebay can't fall back on that excuse for why mine doesn't appear but another seller's does.

One more reason for me to stop paying store fees. Ebay takes away watch totals that buyers see on listings, which reduces buyer incentive.

Ebay takes away the ability for me to choose when I run a sale, so I lose out on a major holiday and when ebay bucks came out.

Ebay takes away Top Rated status and the 10% discount which goes with that unless I agree to buyers being able to return anything for any reason at my expense.

Ebay taketh and taketh while running sellers out of business.

I don't buy for a minute that things are being worked on. Competent programmers should have sorted this out long ago. Back on my soap box to STOP please changing and changing and changing until you are able to FIX the existing. Without a solid foundation, everything they stack on top is doomed to collapse.

At this juncture, I'll just believe 1 view on every item with no watchers...mine.

I 'm to the point that when the items end ,I will not relist or list any thing for a while because I need a brake from selling .
