For about 2 days in a row now, there has been this intermittent problem on Ebay under active listings. It seems to depend on the time of day. The view counter is not showing view numbers on most listings. Instead it shows dashes. Before this problem, there was also another intermittent problem where the view count would show up as zeros instead of dashes. Something is definitely wrong with the view counter and I ask eBay to please fix it since this is a very annoying issue. It is impossible to tell how a listing is doing without the view count. Please respond if you are also experiencing the same problem.

From the listing page in the sellers hub, click into one of your listings and then hit the back button on browser and views will appear.

This isn't just a stats issue. There are actually no views on most items. I have read elsewhere that the search engine is not working, customers can't find what they're looking for and sellers can't find their own items no matter how hard they search. This is a much bigger problem.
This week, I had a number of silver jewelry items listed for auction. only 2 of them showed normal stats, the others showed '-' or '0'' and not one of them sold. Under normal circumstances almost every one of these items would have sold.
I suspect that eBay has hired or promoted a horrible software engineer to oversee the search and listing engines. Now everything is broken and apparently eBay doesn't design software that can be rolled back if there is a problem to an update. There are plently of other venues for selling online. eBay "could" be awesome if they ever get it together

More watchers than views? So they say. Not even possible.

Hi, Have been having same issue for a while now. Been trying to call ebay but no one picks up the phone. They use to pick up almost instantly, now you wait and wait till you just hang up. I get watches to show up but that's about it. At least I'm glad to know it's not just me!

I have also noticed that the views on newly listed items is not showing up in my newly listed items or other people that have newly listed items. Usually I will check this and when an item is just listed it gets a 3-5 views per hour or minute. Now the new listings are not getting any views. Are we doing something wrong. Is it a glitch in the system.

This really has been going on for too long now... I can't imagine that it would be too difficult for a couple of top level programmers/techs to fix this. This is a serious issue that is affecting thousands of your sellers on eBay. I am reticent to list anything at this point as feel it may be a waste of time. I have no way to really know if my items are being seen at all. Also, since it's been broken long enough, many eBay sellers I know personally are starting to come up with "conspiracy theories" re the true reason for this... The main one is that it is intentional to make sellers that do not offer returns on used/collectible items think that's the problem and hopefully they will toe the line as a result. I think the VAST majority of private sellers who only sell used/collectible items feel it is not legit to pressure them to accept returns simply because a buyer changed his/her mind or something else of that ilk. No one should be against a policy that protects buyers if an item is not as described, but this policy pressures these seller into having to sit on the money for all of their sales for 30 to 60 days and this is just not reasonable. Allowing returns for no good reason works for Wal-Mart & the like as they maintain a returns fund by taking a little piece of everything they sell to feed this kitty, but small time private sellers simply cannot afford to do this. You people really would benefit from hiring a seasoned seller to help you craft policy as bean counters with a fresh shingle to hang on their cubicle wall just do not have the background to truly understand the needs of buyers and sellers alike. Please come forward & let us know what the real issue is here so we can make an informed decision as to whether or not continue selling here. Thank you.

Very important!! Why has Ebay not responded to all these concerns. Have they, and most of us don't know where to look for any info?? By now, it would seem that someone would have guided us to where the answer may lie. If Ebay is truly working on a solution, why not post updates as to any or no progress on this issue. People are not happy. People are customers to Ebay. Paying customers, should have recourse if not satisfied just as it works with other businesses. If Ebay would communicate to it's customers a little better, they might not have all this negativity that is seen time and time again on these discussion boards. Do they read these boards? Some Ebayer's say they do from what an associate has told them. If they actually do, then why don't we hear more than , we're working on it. If that's actually true, then why not post updates and estimated cure times. With all the labor costs of answering calls from Ebayers that have so many of the same questions and on going problems, and creating an overly long wait time for customer service to answer a call because of all the backed up people already on hold, over something like number of views, should never happen in the first place. It isn't rocket science is it?

Has anyone contacted the media about this? Would be a great story for local or national media how Ebay is totally ignoring the problem like it does not exist. Setting a poor example of customer service. Hurting long time loyal sellers by not promptly fixing or acknowledging the issue of no views info for weeks. If you’re a seller with a story contact the media, print or broadcast and tell it.
I think the lack of customer/seller support is big considering how they treat sellers that provide poor customer support.

i am still having issue with dashes instead of "views"-anyone else----its been days with this issue.
There is no way to contact Ebay except on their "tell us what you think"-and no response. Phone calls are a wait period of 15 minutes....I dont have that kind of time. any suggestions??????????

yes-esp. when they keep running all these" promotions" why not concentrate on the problems-they will lose people to Etsy, etc.

I posted the same problem on 6/24/2018 "Re: Ebay site does not show the number of views on my listings. Showing up as zero". Unfortunate that "Community" doesn't recognize the same topics and put the information together. It would give a more accurate read of how many sellers are experiencing this problem. Bob Kupbens' chat last week stated that the technical staff does read the comments posted here about technical issues and that eBay relies on seller's to report problems so they can be fixed. Note to technical staff, this is a problem, thank you for fixing it.
I'm confused. Why is this on-going technical problem marked as "solved"? I still have the same issue going on. I cannot be convinced that whatever glitch is making the screwed up views/watchers isn't responsible for the total downward turn in sales. I have a call in to customer service with the call back feature and estimated time is 55 minutes. We'll see. And on that topic, I wish ebay would have their "call backs" identified as coming from eBay when they do call. Sigh.
