So above shows have added paypal and ebay to my want to see ads..
Next click here in pic below to get a little box that says tracking protection has blocked some sites.. click on the "unblock content" box and blue circle goes grey and you can login and pay..

Firefox for me does not show the address bar on the PayPal sign-in pop-up window, but instead I see a shield icon on the left side of the address bar on the main page in eBay and PayPal. If you are experiencing problems with payments, try turning that "Enhanced Tracking Protection" off for each site.

Right. That's what happened to me. Oddly enough, after I closed the window, I checked purchase history, and there was no indication that I'd even tried to buy the item. The spinning was annoying. I felt like the seller would be on my case, but I was ready to let them know the score if they did contact me.

I use Avast adblock, and just whitelisted both ebay and paypal. I will see if that helps.

I still have this problem
Both in Internet Explorer and Foxfire on a PC.
Last night, I tried to used "Edge" and was able to connect, it took a bit longer, and quick paid my eBay fees.
I am able to go to the Seller's Hub and connect to Paypal and print my shipping labes.
I found the UBlock the dashboard and the whitelist, but not sure what to do.
There is a list of items in blue. Am I to enter pay.ebay.com and paypal.com below those in blue?
Hi everyone, I just wanted to confirm that we are investigating this issue now and I have added all of the impacted users from this thread to our report. I don't have an estimated time for a fix at the moment, but will touch base if I need more info from anyone. In the meantime, make sure there is nothing wrong with your PayPal account (address, card on file, etc.) and that you PayPal login info is up to date. Try logging in to the regular PayPal site with the same account information to double check, and to ensure there is no account issue on PayPal's end that could be interfering with payment. Lastly, clear your browsing history/cache/cookies and attempt payment again. Some members may find checkout is successful when using a different browser, by trying to check out on a desktop or the mobile version of the site (whichever you were not using originally), or by logging into eBay.ca and completing checkout there. Be aware if you buy the item on eBay.ca, any potential issues with your purchase would be addressed on eBay.ca going forward.

So, if I prefer not to be tracked or a deluge of ads, I can't use eBay any more? Suits me.

Once you make it through checkout once, you should be able to re-enable your ad blocker and enhanced tracking protection. It is not necessary to permanently disable ad blocking on all of eBay, just temporarily, and only on pay.ebay.com and paypal.com, from what I understand.
If you do not want to fiddle with the settings of your primary browser, try using another browser and alter the settings there to get through checkout.

Thanks,
I was about to give up with Paypal, but your suggestion of whitelisting Paypal in ABP did the trick.
Cheers

!0 days. Dozen of calls to paypal.
Nothing. Not working on firefox, on chrome, on edge, on opera.
4 different browsers, 3 computers, 2 operating systems, cleared cash, cookies, even reinstalled OS.
Doesn't matter if I choose paypal credit or paypal balance.
Can connect to paypal website, can login, can't connect to paypal credit FROM paypal web interface either.
Only way to pay for ANYTHING on ebay is from mobile device.
There is no help from ebay nor paypal. All I get is "We are experiencing technical problems but it will be fixed in no time!" over and over again for last 10 days. Oh wait, not true - for last few days on top of all this **bleep** I had "It's firefox, you can not use paypal with firefox now"
Which means forget 'bout it, it's not gonna be fixed any time soon.
To be honest I am shocked. Biggest www payment system in company with biggest www auction can't find and fix problem with payments?! Just curious how much money they loosing every day....

I am having exactly the same problem for the last 6 days. It is immensely frustrating. Paypal works perfectly on all other sites and I can pay sellers direct without involving eBay but I cannot pay for anything using Paypal through eBays checkout. My uncle has same problem. Is not as laid back as me so is now refusing to list anything else with eBay and is using other platforms.
