Hi. I have a problem with my account. I had it set up on "ebay.com" for about two years with trading in US dollars. But now my account opens in "cz.ebay.de" with a very poor translation into Czech and with trading in Euros. I don't want this bad Ebay. I don't understand that bad Czech and I don't want to trade in Euros. How can I go back to the original settings?
Thank You.

How are you getting to eBay? Using a bookmark or a browser home page? You may need to update it.
Try this instead:
Try another browser to rule out a browser issue.
Try another device to rule out a device issue.
Try another network to rule out a network issue.
Try another eBay account to rule out an account issue.
Try another site such as ebay.ca to rule out a site issue.

I have the exact same problem. When I type in ebay.com it immediately redirects me to cz.ebay.de. I buy things mainly from the USA and now I have to search for them through this Czech-German version. The robot in customer service is unable to answer anything, or offers to call me someone from Germany.

The problem may be due to your location; your network provider may be automatically forwarding you to that site, or there may be some setting causing that in your browser triggered by your location. Try different ways of connecting to eBay to see if there is a way around it.
It is unlikely that anyone outside of the Czech Republic has encountered this specific problem or will be able to help you aside from making suggestions of things for you to try.

When I type in ebay.com it immediately redirects me to cz.ebay.de.
How about other ebay.com addresses aside from the main eBay page, like this:
https://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html
Or other country sites like these:
https://pages.ebay.ca/sitemap.html

I live in the Czech Republic and I use a MacBook Pro.
Using Safari, I have exactly the same issue, it forces a re-direct to cz.ebay.de.
Using Chrome, there is not an issue.
Obviously, there is some sort of Safari setting that is allowing the re-direct, but I absolutely cannot find it.
I hope someone more clever can help us out!

Hi. I had the same problem. I simply blocked the website cz.ebay.de in my browser settings.

I do have the same problem. Only Opera still works and keep ebay.com. I am not able to open ebay.com in Chrome or Mozilla. It is horrible for two reasons - 1. I do not see all items on ebay.de. 2. There is a really terrible translation to czech. I do not understand German and it is not keep english. Translation to the czech is ..... terrible. Supprising is much worst then on ebay.com.
Example : I tryed to find out a asus GL504G hinge cover. Ebay.de showed only two items. Ebay.com (in Opera) showed about 10 items. There are even missing items from France (EU !!) in Ebay.de.

i have the very same problem, it is basically unusable due to horrible auto translation, not showing all results in search, also some filtering options are missing.
my currently workaround is using ebay app on my iphone

Thank you, this indeed seems to have helped (even though it took me some time to find the respective settings and clearly, eBay.com needed to be blocked specifically, the general block for all websites that I use didn't work...).
And eBay claimed there is no one else with this problem. Liars. Many other people in the very same days so clearly it was not just on my end.

I have identical problem I don't want anything from Germany, I want to use www.ebay.com not any alter version. I have tested Edge and it works, also switched to google chrome "Incognito" which works as well. In both cases it doesn't redirect to German crap ebay. It seems some screw up on google chrome 😞 enforcing German

Same problem, "solved" by using opera with VPN, forcing us to use the mistranslated ebay.de instead of ebay.com is incredibly stupid. I collect minerals, I want to find minerals from Elmwood mine, I type elmwood, stupid ebay instead of mineral from Elmwood only finds literally wooden products. Although ebay.com offers over 300 searched minerals and directly used ebay.de about 70. stupid version cz.ebay.de does not find a single one. No wonder ebay is losing customers.

The redirect is unrelated to anything in browser, cookies or such. It can be reproduced from a command line on a server. See for example:
[sharkcz@myhost ~]$ curl -I https://www.ebay.com
HTTP/2 302
server: AkamaiGHost
content-length: 0
location: https://cz.ebay.de/
expires: Sun, 22 Dec 2024 12:45:33 GMT
cache-control: max-age=0, no-cache, no-store
pragma: no-cache
date: Sun, 22 Dec 2024 12:45:33 GMT
set-cookie: akaas_AB_Test_for_CZ_users=2147483647~rv=13~id=f412886b80a98932e364467da36cb377; path=/; Secure; SameSite=None
So clearly there is some testing running on Czech users ...
