I need to begin a ShipCover claim. I go to Shipping Labels and click "create claim". I enter all the information and then hit submit only to be met with a very vague error message telling me to try again later. I have been attempting to open this claim since July 3.
Wait times to call and speak with a representative via the ShipCover help page have been anywhere from 40 minutes to over an hour. I opted to have a representative call me back but never received a return phone call.

I apologize for the trouble you are having filing your eBay ShipCover claim online.
We have been informed that eBay is having an issue with a small portion of their website which includes the claim filing page for ShipCover claims. Please know that the fact that you cannot file a claim at this time, due to this error, will not affect the outcome of your claim.
Also, wait times to speak to a ShipCover customer service rep are never 40 minutes to an hour. I'm guessing that you may haved called the wrong company. We promptly answer calls M-F; 8-4:30pm central time.
Please give us a call so that we may log your issue. Our toll free number is available on the ShipCover website.
Thank you.

I wonder why anyone is using Shipcover at all. So far, every time I have compared prices with USPS insurance, USPS has been cheaper. Shipcover excludes Coins, bullion, loose diamonds or stones, so remember not to use them for those items. Also USPS insurance is backed by the U.S. government, ShipCover is not and can go bankrupt at any time and all pending claims would dissolve into thin air so you would be out of luck. USPS is now fully automated online and much quicker than in the past so payments have been much quicker. Shipcover may payout quicker, but I've had no problems with USPS claims and so far USPS has always been a little cheaper so I'm sticking with our government backed insurance.

Same thing happened to me today...I clicked create a claim on shipping page, went through the steps as you described, and than got the error message as yours. I called Ebay customer support and got the run around, that it was up to me to contact Interstate Fire & Casualty Insurance directly after first making a claim with USPS. I told them no...at least 5 times...USPS will not allow me to create a claim because it was ground. I finally requested the supervisor which told me the same...and gave me the number for Interstate Fire & Casualty which when I called was a wrong number. Now, I have to go through all this again Monday when I need to be spending time selling...I spend more time trying to navigate this seller hub than I do actual selling....

I still cannot create a ShipCover claim. Spent 40 minutes on the phone with an eBay representative today who said she would get her team leader to submit a technical support ticket and in the meantime "just keep trying".
I've tried from different browsers, I've cleared cookies and cache as suggested by the rep, no luck. Still the same error message every time.
Would be nice if someone from eBay would respond and acknowledge that this is being worked on and advise on how to create my claim in the meantime - one week and counting is unacceptable when I've paid for the insurance and need what I paid for.

Hello - I am very sorry for this frustration. Can I ask that you give us a call and provide your policy number for the shipment you are needing to file on? This way, we can log the issue and have a record of your attempt to file. Our claims department phone number is available on both the PIP and ShipCover website. Please ask for Jill.
Please know that PIP/ShipCover is in contact with eBay's engineering team and they are acvtively working on this. They are in contact with us daily. Also, this issue with eBay's website will not affect your coverage. Unfortunately, there is no troubleshooting that eBay's customer service team can implement for you. Although, you are welcome to follow up with them.

It is always sooooo funny when the Ebay rep suggest the problem is you need to clear your browser history, cookies, and cache because the problem has to be on your end. Then after you do this and the problem is not resolved they of course claim you need to contact the support for your browser. They refuse to admit the problem is on theior end and clim no one else has these issues. You go to the technical issue section of the community forum and what do you know the issue is on their end and tons of people are griping about the Ebay reps not acknoleding any isses and refusing to report problems to their technical team. Then even if they do because they can never comprehend your problem correctly they report partial or completley wrong information so the techs so not know what to look for and duplicate.
