[BUG?] Listings not displaying promotion banner & "watchers"

I've noticed the past couple days the "promotion banner" (I'm not sure if there's a proper term for it) is no longer displaying on the top of listings (the one that reads "Buy one and get one at x% off". 

Additionally, "Watchers" (and the number) also does not seem to be displaying in listings.

It has been posted by Ebay that this is intentional and not a bug.  Everybody go the the "Ebay for business" Facebook page and let them know we don't like this change.  Maybe we can get them to change it back.

I guess it all depends on who you talk to at eBay.

I just got off the phone with them and they stated that they're getting a ton of complaints and that their position is not a permanent one, but varies on sellers feedback.

Everyone now needs to call or post their dissatisfaction, so that they reverse this ridiculous change.

I also have buyers messaging me, asking me why I eliminated my promotion.

I just sent an e-mail to eBay Anchor Stores Customer Support asking why the banner was removed.

Sales are close to nothing for me. From long time experience whenever I created a promotion I would have at least 20-30 sales. I have about 1-3 in the past 5 Dad the promotion has been running. Rediculous

The most ridiculous thing is that we pay for them to do this stuff to us.  Back when nobody had "stores" they didn't pull this mularkey as often as they do now.  Back then, they were too busy watching the numbers go up.

I have been looking into this as well trying to figure out why the banners on my new promotion are not at the top of the page like they were in the past!  This is CRAZY!!!  Why is Ebay HIDING our promotions?  Most people dont scroll to the bottom of the listings!!

This is like walking into a store, finding something you like, going to check out at the back of the store and THEN being shown a sign that there is a promotion!!! At that point, I am ready to checkout and leave so I don't have time to shop for additional items. What about the majority of people that never make it to the back of the store??? They never even know there is a promotion.  So much lost business!!

I agree. I have become so frustrated with the whole thing that the times I have called to try and address this issue it has fallen on deaf ears. It makes no sense to have the promotion or sale if the customer cannot see it as a incentive to make the decision to buy. I unfortunately, have just reduced some prices over time, although that cannot be done with all items listed. I have been told by eBay that reducing the price is not a good practice to obtain sales, yet the alternatives are not as effective as they used to be. I would love to know why ebay does not consult a group of sellers before they make some of these decisions. We as sellers should have a voice. Anyway that's about it from me for now.

You absolutely have the answer, not enough people are sharing the concer/making a complaint about the change for ebay to take notice. I feel strongly that ebay should be inviting sellers or have online focus groups randomly sellecting sellers to represent the sellers so at least ebay would have input from all of us doing the work and using the software daily. It should matter to them that decisions they make can and does impact sales in a negative way. I suspect the folks makeing some of these decisions are salaried and get  a regular paycheck as opposed to many of us where this is our primary form to create income.

Encourage people to use the "comments" link on the listings page about these changes.  The more pushback they get there the better.   

We've been told in the past that the comment link is the best place to voice opinions about changes to a page.

adding more thoughts.  There is a reason why google charges people to place ads at the TOP of the page.  There's a reason why ebay's search algorithms places certain items at the TOP of the page.  There's a reason why physical store place their for sales signs in their windows.  The top of the page is the most valuable real estate and to not promote your promotions is absolutely rediculous.  Have seen 0 promoted sales since the change.   Fix this!!!

Since the change I have had zero multi order sales as well.  Am seriously wondering if the plan is to bring the banner back as an "add on" where sellers who chose to utilize it would have to pay some % of the total sale.

Why the removal of watchers? What is wrong with the people who work at ebay? Are they crazy? As a buyer, for a example, I tend to become more interested when I see how many watchers something has. It piques my curiosity. 

As a seller, it helps me know quickly what is interesting and what isn't. This isn't rocket science. So tired of all the dumb changes here. Just changing for the sake of change isn't progress.

Same here, I am a small seller, was selling an average of $250 day and many multiple orders which helps save shipping, however, after the change of the promotion banner to the bottom I have a HUGE drop in amount sold and value.

Why does ebay always change what is working? It is beyond my comprehension.

I called ebay couple weeks ago for another issue, I was unable to print international labels at the same time other labels, using ebay labels, which made it get outside scan forms, when I called ebay they said that I need call USPS??! WELL, I called and they said it was with eBay off course, days after everyone had that Sunday when nobody could print nothing and ebay announced hours later that problem was fixed, including the international label issue... SOOO, means that the incompetent at the ebay CS  did not know it (I spoke with many, they transferred me 3 times)... I am guessing that it was not an eBay decision to move the banner down the page, I assume it is all related and I am speculating that it is all a result of ebay charges in platform to accommodate new payment method and also redesign (as always) its own page, which somehow has caused some glitch causing the labels issues and now the promotional banner to be moved, OK, I am only speculating but as ebay CS is terrible and always incompetent in pass information and solve issues it is probably a possible good guess.

The promotional banner not appearing at the top of the listing was intentional!  I called ebay as well as another seller.  I was told it was a problem that they were aware of.  The other seller was told that ebay moved the banner to the bottom of the listing.  So it was not a bug in the system!  It was moved to the bottom intentionally.  I have no idea who thought that would be a better location as many buyers do not even read the description on the listing and will not see the promotion banner. 

I was told by the ebay rep that a message appears when a buyer puts an item in their cart, that they will receive a discount if 2 more items are purchased.  I questioned the rep, asking her what happens when the buyer just uses the Buy it Now option.  They never see the message.  She was unaware that ebay had moved the banner to the bottom of the listing.  She thought it was a bug in the system and was not appearing anywhere.  This just shows that ebay has not even informed their own people that they changed the location.  The other seller who called said the man he talked to also did not know the banner was moved to the bottom of the listing. 

It is obvious that ebay reps are not sellers as no one would have decided to move the promotion announcement to the bottom.  Ebay would not exist without its sellers, and it is high time they realize that fact.  They bend over backwards for their buyers with very little care for their sellers.
