I accepted an offer from a buyer but eBay is showing me my item is still listed for sale. When I got the email link to my item under offers it says awaiting payment, however that does Not show up under the sold or awaiting payment section on my eBay account. As I view the item it still looks to be for sale This is from my home computer and not my cell phone

It's not an error, it's something eBay has been testing with accepted offers - they remain in pending status while the item is available for anybody else to purchase until the buyer pays. It's one of several things eBay is testing to cut down on non-payers and the inconvenience to sellers when buyers lose interest after an item ends, and seller has to start from scratch when they relist. If the buyer does not pay within a certain amount of time it will time out and be removed from the pending section. If the buyer pays then it will become an official transaction on your orders page @the-lions-den-45 . In the meantime any buyer can purchase at full price or make an offer.

It will stay active until the offer is paid for........................
i think (example) if someone comes along and pays full price, it will be sold to that party......
the offer will loose the item.

Thank you for the answer! May I ask is this a new feature? Before, The Sold and awaiting payment on a sold item were on the same page...

Not sure when it started, but it hasn't been to long.
I think it better now, so if the buyer doesn't pay, it doesn't take the listing down and another buyer can come and buy it.

I understand that this is how it is *supposed* to work, but after I accept a buyer's offer, the buyer has paid for that item, and I've shipped the item, all of the offers from previous buyers are still there, waiting for me to decline or ignore (or accept or counter, which is odd since the inventory is at zero). This has happened to me for 3 different sales now. Are we to manually decline all of the other offers once it has been sold and paid for?

All I can say is nice try eBay, but this is not working when the buyer is not notified that we the seller accepted their offer. this has cost us 4 sales this month. On the most recent one where we did not get our message that we accepted the offer I sent an email to the buyer letting them know we accepted their offer with a link to the item. Got a reply from that buyer a few days later letting me know they never received notice. Now that offer has expired.
You can't send a message from the item to the buyer, can't send an invoice & if you try & select this is about an item & select that item, you are taken to your message & not able to send the buyer one.
This process is buggy, is costing us sellers money & makes us look bad like we are ignoring the offers we are receiving.
eBay, please stop using us sellers as your test subjects. I know you hate sellers as you are constantly making changes that hurt sellers to help buyers, but please remember it is us sellers you are making your money on as we are the ones you are taking the fees from from both the sales & store subscriptions. Too bad we have 0 recourse when things like this constantly go wrong.

It is unacceptable in my opinion that Ebay does not show accepted offers in awaiting payment. If they want to change the system to allow someone else to buy at full price until paid, fine (I don't want that functionality myself...if I accepted the offer, the sale has been made). All this does is cause confusion in inventory control as you think you sold an item but there is zero documentation except in EBAYs backend system. This is not seller friendly something that anyone needed. Prior to this, items still would be relisted for you if the buyer didn't pay.
So Ebay, if you are listening: Show all items in awaiting payment. Stop hiding sales.

So do non-paying buyers get dinged or not? I have a couple of items not I sold for best offer - they actually offered 10% or more over the asking price. So if someone else comes in lower, they can actually win the item?!?

Same thing happened to me - I asked eBay about it before reading this. The eBay rep said I never accepted the offer. Yes, I did. I was offered $5 more than I asked for the item. I've done this plenty of times. It was even in my pending payments. So this may be a new system, but either it's buggy or eBay support has no idea how it works. Even worse - he never paid. Was he dinged or not? Can anyone now make a best offer, have it accepted, wait until the auction ends and potentially get it for less than the final bit amount simply because they waited to pay?

Not a fan of this new system. I find it very confusing. I went to send an invoice to the buyer and I couldn't even do that!

This is not a good thing.
When I accept a buyer's offer it should be a done deal.
Now it's out in limbo for 5 days and then it may just disappear.

This feature is awful. I have a buyer who made 4 offers that I accepted. I want to send them one invoice but there are only 3 items and the other is stuck and shows respond to offer but there isn't one and it says pending payment. What I can do is make them pay for 1 and credit them shipping on my invoice for 3 items. But this is not good business and a hassle for everyone.

So they started implementing automatic payment whenever an offer was accepted - like over a year ago. For some reason that never applied to all listings or all offers.
Am I now correct in thinking that they've decided to nix that half rollout of what is the only reasonable way to have this work (seriously!? ebay has the buyer's payment info, an offer is supposed to be binding, why did it take them years to halfway implement this??) in order to implement something that is confusing to both sellers and buyers and also isn't how "making an offer" is defined in common parlance. It's like they've decided to change the definition to something weird.
End of rant
But in case there are any ebay employees on this forum, please count me as a +1 for thinking this is a dumb way to go about it.
