I have some elegant glass candelabras and there is pooled wax at the bottom of the parts that hold the candles. Is there an effective way to remove it? Any ideas?

I think this is supposed to have a lid, so assuming it is a pot instead of a vase. Also it is only ink-stamped Made in U.S.A. (and you can see that someone has drilled a hole in the bottom). Any ideas of maker? Or is this just some junky piece?
