Ebay is a for profit corporation as are most in this country. It is why they exist.
Sellers come to sites like Ebay to sell items and make money.
So your comment begs some questions, Why is Ebay held to a different standard? If Ebay is greedy for making a profit, then aren't sellers also greedy for making a profit? Why would it be different? It is why we are all here.

Where did I say it was wrong they are wanting to make a profit? You are making an argument off of a fabricated comment I never made. I said they got greedy in the aspect of wanting to get the fees the PayPal was for the service they providing. PayPal worked great. Now that eBay wants all the money going through them, it sucks. You have to wait a week longer to get paid, if there is a “glitch” like I experienced, it will take 2 weeks or longer after being transferred all around to different departments where none of them know what to do or say. The refund process is garbage and they charge more than PayPal did. It wasn’t broken, but like I said, they got greedy with wanting all the money to go through them so they could charge more in fees.

I guess it boils down to word choice. You said they got "greedy". I took that to mean what so many posters have posted in the past when talking about MP.
The fees they get for money processing pales in comparison to the increased cash flow from pulling their fees up front. That is a HUGE win for Ebay and is likely the single most important thing for them. They don't wait 45+ days to get paid and have significantly cut down on collection issues.
I with you about PP. I was very happy using them. But it is important to realize that Ebay is not the unicorn here, Paypal is.
The change to MP is particularly hard on Casual Sellers that have never sold on any of the other bigger sites like Ebay. All other larger sites similar to Ebay have their own money processing systems too. Some are very similar to Ebay's and others are harder to deal with IMHO. Ebay is the last of the bigger sites to have their payment program site wide, the others have had them for years.
" The refund process is garbage and they charge more than PayPal did." I'm not sure about this statement. Ebay nor PP charged for claims filed in Ebay or PP when the seller refunds. In fact in Ebay you get all your fees back on a full refund. In PP you do not. Unless you are talking about Chargebacks. When a buyer goes to their credit card company and files their claim. The fee is $20 if you lose the chargeback in both Ebay and PP. The fee is the same. The process for issuing a refund in Ebay is extremely simple too. So I just don't understand your statement, sorry.

RIGHT!
The block funds with no reason. sent me to find out what's going on at Payoneer. All ok at the bank but ebay have no idea what's going on.
Loks like this is a complete scam!
Considering closing my ebay account after 21 years!!!

I'm on day 16 of my funds being held (stolen) by eBay
Nobody at eBay can help me, just keep being told to wait
never had an issue with managed payments until august
then suddenly i must be 'verified'
I sent them everything they requested
TWICE
Keep getting the runaround on why my 'verification' is held up
At this point I have lost all faith and enthusiasm for eBay
And now I have to sue them to get my money
Sad, and a shame
And we're still going through COVID pandemic but eBay wants to help themselves to sellers' money
Nice

Have you spoken with a Managed Payments specialist yet? I would start there if your16 days in without a payment and there is no other reason why such as new seller / returning seller which will cause significant delays until you prove yourself to eBay.
09-04-2021 08:39 AM
I have spoken with Managed Payments
They keep giving me the runaround
They said the documents I sent in are fine and that they have them and everything looks good
I've been told there is nothing wrong with my account, my information, and to just wait it out
Then they say wait 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 5 days, 7 days, 10 days
I've been told It's just a delay, it will work itself out, it will be resolved, they assure me it is nothing on my end
I even asked them if there had been a security breach or hardware failure at eBay
Then they did not like that question, and my last communication with them I was straight up told eBay was 'not at liberty' to tell me why why account verification is held up or why my account is still restricted or even when I can expect a resolution
basically, tough sh*t for you, now go away and stop contacting us - that is the vibe I am getting after trying to talk with eBay SEVEN TIMES about this matter
I've been a seller 13+ years
100 % feedback
Over 2400 feedbacks
I have never broken any rule, been rude to any seller or buyer, never even have had a complaint against a seller or from any buyers, and despite my stress and anxiety level at this point, I have never been anything but courteous to everyone at eBay I have spoken with
In short, eBay and I have gotten along famously forever
Until now
I've been using Managed Payments for several months already
Never a problem until I received the 'send us your driver's license and bank statement' message
Now they have my funds frozen
So I had to take all my listings down, I can't afford to keep mailing out items I won't be paid for
This whole thing is just a nightmare and my only other options are the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, my local state Attorney General, and a private attorney
And I have forwarded all the chat logs and emails to the entities above
And I have complies, TWICE

Speaking with a CSR on the MP line is not the same as speaking with a Specialist. You need to request a specialist and/or supervisor as repeat phone calls have gotten you no where. It is important to remember to put your frustration aside BEFORE you make the phone call. You want them to WANT to work for you not just get you off the phone.
You can't accomplish that if you are venting and upset. Calling Ebay names or suggesting all the stuff you have been suggesting all over the forums today. Just keep the call simple, even tempered and factual. It will get you much further than being upset.

I agree, awful. Guess we just have to start using marketplace more.
09-07-2021 06:57 AM
I have to agree, this payment system is simply awful!
09-13-2021 06:35 AM
Yes, there IS something to fix. A stupid system that makes sellers wait days longer than before for their money, and requires them to give their personal banking into to eBay. I know they are unlikely to revert back to PayPal, but it was FAR better, and if they don't, I am don't fix this, I am done selling on eBay. Why is it that PayPal could make your money available almost instantly, but eBay can't? Makes no sense?
09-13-2021 06:48 AM
Yeah, that is the most idiotic statement eBay has ever made. "Enhance our experience" -- by holding our money for days?? Like we're stupid. Besides that, their new seller panel is all screwed up. Often after your auction sells, it does not even show up on the "SOLD" window, or it appears in the UNSOLD window. What the hell is going on. I've put up with a lot of **bleep** from eBay, but this is the last straw.
09-13-2021 06:56 AM
Everything about the NEW Ebay sucks. They just couldn't leave it alone! Costs are skyrocketing!
09-13-2021 06:58 AM
They DON'T CARE about us, and I'd bet anything they will not fix this horrible new payment system. Somehow they must have thought we'd all roll over and accept it, and they'd make more money off the float time they were holding our money. We won't, but they won't back down, just like they've stuck to every other stupid change they've made over the years, such as not allowing sellers to give anything but positive feedback to buyers. Screw you eBAY!
