Thanks for the giggle. Etsy has the same money processing program as Ebay does.

True. I guess what I should have said was: I trust Etsy, I don't trust eBay.

I'd still have to ask why as the payment processes are the same. Right down to using Adyen as the payment processor. I sell on Etsy too and I don't find them as trustworthy as you do. Especially regarding fees.

Why what happened?

The new eBay payment system sucks. First, we have no control over when or how much of our money gets deposited. Second, we have no way to issue partial (or any) refunds to customers. Third, we still have to pay a stinking invoice every month.
We should have total control over our funds - just like we do with Paypal. The only reason we switched was to save money (switching will save us $600+ per year versus Paypal).
By giving us control over the funds, it will enable us to leave some money in place for partial and other refunds.
We were hoping that eBay was going to deduct their fees as soon as a customer paid for an item (this would make life much easier on the majority of sellers).
Why is eBay so stupid when it comes to things like this?? Now we have no way to opt out of this garbage payment system and Paypal won't be an option again until sometime next year. Pure genius, eBay, pure genius. I will be giddy with anticipation to see what scheme they cook up next to screw people over (like they do now by taking 10% of our shipping fees - the buyer ends up paying less than we do quite often).

To say I totally agree with you, is an understatement. MANGLED payments DO suck! Recently signed up and eBay keeps saying that they don't recognize my banking information or that there is an error with ....the typical eBay Murphy's law carp. I triple checked the information I sent them and it WAS correct... The same information I've had with eBay for 17 years! eBay was supposed to send a micropayment to my account so I can respond with that amount and get my money deposited.... It sounded good on paper, but they still have not done that, while I've got money's in limbo, waiting to be sent to my bank!!!
I called eBay customer service twice, concerning this issue, and one agent told me they have been having big problems with it. Unless eBay gets its act together with this it is going to totally implode on them-

Since MP doesn't function like the Wallet PP is, why would you leave money in MP? You can't use it to purchase stuff and fund from MP.
Second, we have no way to issue partial (or any) refunds to customers.
You just haven't found the right place. Refunds whether full or partial are really EASY in MP. Just go to your orders and use the drop down menu by that transaction. Select refund and follow the instructions. It is really easy.
Third, we still have to pay a stinking invoice every month.
What? Are you suggesting sellers should have no fees because of MP? I'm not sure I understand this issue you feel you have. And in case you weren't aware, they are deducting fees from your MP account. You can see this in the details of your transactions. So instead of paying for fees once a month, it is pay as you go.
We should have total control over our funds - just like we do with Paypal. The only reason we switched was to save money (switching will save us $600+ per year versus Paypal).
This would be nice. But MP is NOT like PP. PP is a full wallet type program, MP is not. MP is a basic money processing program. Maybe in time that will change, but for now this remains true. Control over MP funds would serve no purpose right now since there is no purpose or advantage to leaving money in MP.
By giving us control over the funds, it will enable us to leave some money in place for partial and other refunds.
If you are getting returns or other claims that frequently, you should see if you can take a look at that and ways to reduce it. Something that would likely help you with this for now is to NOT do Daily deposits and move to Weekly Deposits. Weekly is released every Tuesday morning.
We were hoping that eBay was going to deduct their fees as soon as a customer paid for an item (this would make life much easier on the majority of sellers).
They are. You need to be looking at the details of your transactions.
Why is eBay so stupid when it comes to things like this??
I think that is completely unfair. Especially since you are making some assumptions and certainly have some misunderstandings. All of which you can actually see the answers to if you spend a little time with the various screens you can see in the Seller Hub, Payments tab.
Now we have no way to opt out of this garbage payment system and Paypal won't be an option again until sometime next year.
What? PP isn't going to be an option for sellers next year. Once you are in MP, you are there to stay. Where did you hear this or read this?????????
Pure genius, eBay, pure genius. I will be giddy with anticipation to see what scheme they cook up next to screw people over (like they do now by taking 10% of our shipping fees - the buyer ends up paying less than we do quite often).
You jump to conclusions without actually understanding the process. You would be much better off to take the time to actually learn how the program functions, because if what you listed here is ALL that bugs you about MP and makes you not like it, you are in really good shape as I've given you answers to all your concerns and MP is supporting what you want.
MP is a HUGE change for all of us. Humans just don't like big changes and even more we don't like ultimatums. MP is NOT as flexible as PP, there is no doubt of that. I too very much liked PP. It is a hard change for sure.

I agree but when a customer buys from my shop I will be posting all orders when payment is cleared into my bank meaning customers have to wait longer for delivery ebay has messed up hear as i won't be posting until i get my money as i am not using my own personal money to pay for posting hell no this is ebay mess not mine.
Why can't they just leave things as they are even the new seller hub design looks really bad i hate it is **bleep**.

@rogabooksllc wrote:No kidding, if someone pays on wednesday or thursday I don't get that until next tuesday or wednesday. Ebay gets it immediately when the transaction is approved, so why isn't it forwarded. This is online business, sellers can't go 4-5 days without money coming in. Ridiculous!
How do you figure Ebay gets the funds immediately, just because the buyer pays?
The payment has to process and the funds have to be sent from the buyers payment source, which isn't instant.

And they use the same Managed Payment system, same processor and they have been for a few years and it works great.

Ebay is switching payment processors and soon you won't be able to use your fake Pay Pal account to sell here.

As good as Managed Payments is for Ebay, I don't think Pay Pal will ever be an option again for sellers.

If you wait that long to ship, buyers will just find another seller to buy from.
You can use the pending funds to pay for shipping.

SAME. It's crazy that I have to front shipping costs and then wait days to be paid. I moved all my stuff to M and hate It there, but at least I get paid asap and not fronting a ton of shipping costs. Ebay lost my sales. Not interested in this nonsense new system.

I agree.
