So I was inactive from selling for over a year I come back with a new bank account still in the same name and address and link it to my ebay and I guess that's what triggered the account restriction. But after finally getting receipts for 3 of the 4 items sold in the last year I send ebay everything they asked for and they send me an email saying my account will remain indefinitely suspended. I have never gotten one complaint on ebay, they all leave me good feedback when I sell. The only thing I did differently in the last year was get a new bank. They paid me out 2 weeks before this restriction and then all of a sudden restricted. These buyers already got their items and im out of the item and the money now. Ebay won't respond to me on how I get my money. Please someone help me get my money.

I mean ebay already told me it's final and there's no appeal. They made it very clear they wont give me the reason for "security reasons" so nobody will ever know. I just think it's absolutely criminal to let me sell the items and then restrict my account after delivery requesting documents and after you get the documents you ban me and don't pay me out when the customers all have their items and I have nothing.

Thanks. Will keep an eye out, If they don't refund the buyers their money. I have seen posts on here where after a permanent restriction they have refunded the buyers their money and let them keep the product. I have no faith in ebay right now.

yes this is an unsolved mystery for sure..just looking for a reason that makes sense..Ebay doesnt just suspend sellers of pricey items for no reason..they like those fvf's.

The only thing I have done is change my bank account since I don't use the other bank anymore. I know that's why I was restricted, thought I'd just wait 30 days and get my money and then I find out it's a permanent restriction.

And yeah I wasn't going to be using eBay in 2022 because I don't want to be responsible paying taxes on something I can't possibly get a receipt for because I buy it used to save money.

Where are you buying it used that you can't get a receipt? Even the church rummage sales around here give you a handwritten receipt with your purchase.

I shop on Craigslist and Facebook a lot when I want electronics. I rarely buy from retailers

you changed your bank acct before you listed those three items? Did Ebay make small deposits to the new bank to verify that it was your bank account? Sellers change their bank accts all the time here..opened new bank accounts just for managed payments.

Actually they didn't. I unlinked the bank I used over a year ago and to link my new bank they asked me to signin to the bank through them or whatever process it was and it was just instantly verified. They didn't do any deposit. But they asked me for my bank statements which has the name and address on my ebay so everything matched.

Yeah. To be able to just ban someone for no reason and steal their $2k is just absurd. Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. Have a great day

Wait, I didn't say that nor do I agree with it.  It may be your opinion that it is for no reason however that does not mean that it is a fact.  Clearly you disagree with whatever Ebay's reasoning is.  I understand that.  However that does not mean that Ebay will keep your money forever.  It would take awhile but once they are convinced the buyer is OK and won't be filing a claim, the money should get released to you.  That could take a couple of months but I don't know for sure.

Just fishing here..you had a negative fb a year ago, and you responded that the buyer stole your item and kept the money. By any chance, did he open a not as described case that you did not respond to? I also see a neg for cancelling a transaction, which was an international buyer with freight forwarding..what reason did you use to cancel?

Neither one of those things could or would cause the current situation the seller is in.  However if they didn't like the paperwork the seller submitted on their bigger sale, that would do it and is likely the issue.

For what it's worth... after a time, eBay will send your monies to your state's Unclaimed Property Dept. Keep an eye on the public notices. I understand it's easy to get it from them with a photo ID.

That is after a six month period and only if the registration information is wrong or incomplete.  If the seller has completed the registration and Ebay has confirmed this, then once Ebay is comfortable that all their buyers are taken care of they would release the funds via a Payout as is normal for MP.  But this can take a little time too.

Ebay is scam now days ! Those monkeys which are replying to emails they have just learned how to press ctr+c and then ctr+v and they don't care what is written there.
It is so sad when you type email to them, but no one has read it and you got template email back.

now every single account gots restricted right after first listing. It doesn’t care if it brand item or if it used pen for example. Anyway you will get banned !

Are your funds being held by Ebay?  Is that why you are upset?

All New sellers DO NOT get "RESTRICTED".  They have a selling limit and they may have their money held for a period of time as it clearly stated in the Rules.  This is in order to help new sellers get their feet wet so to speak and learn how to sell.  As it true for many new sellers, they just don't take the time to read and learn about the rules of selling on this site BEFORE starting to sell.  Those these limits are helpful to guide them into things.

Getting "restricted" is completely different and normally requires the seller breaching a seller rule or two and Ebay caught them at it.

Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-and-payments/payments/payment-holds/

Without specifics there is nothing I can offer to the discussion of what happened to you.

You aren't in the same boat as the OP of this thread.  They apparently got their account sanctioned a year ago.  To get around that sanction they opened a new account a year later in the hopes that Ebay just forgot about them I guess, they found out that Ebay did not forget and banned them forever.
