I have 16 payouts that ebay owes me since end of May, and not ONE has been deposited in my chequings account. I am in Canada with the CIBC. I have updated and validated the same chequings account, transit and institution number over and over and over again. I have had this account for over 40 years. In the recent past, ebay has even taken money from this account.
Ebay claims the info I gave them does not match up with the info my bank has about me, and so some agents say that my bank is blocking the deposits. Some agents have hinted at the possibility that the glitch is internal to ebay and that something is not clicking with my account. Other agents have claimed that the problem is my bank info or my bank itself. My bank says my info is correct, my account is correct (and that is accepts US funds), and that they will never ever ever block deposits. I have no way of knowing the COMPLETE bank info ebay has about me because the agents only have the last 4 digits of the account. I have never spoken to the same agent twice is a row, so I need to reexplain the situation again and again and again. I have been unable to speak to a supervisor. Two agents I spoke to said they were going to call me back in a few days, and they never did.
This has been going on for 2 months. Not one single deposit for the entire summer. I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I have spoken to dozens of managed payments agents. What else can I do? I feel betrayed by ebay.

The money turned out to be going to an account in our (joint) name, but because eBay had it as TDCanadaTrust when the account was actually at the Royal Bank, TD couldn't find it.
At last, when we asked at the Royal Bank, mostly because we were there about our RRIF, the teller found it immediately and there was our money.
Then we were able to change the institution number and send all new payments to DH's TD account rather than the household account.
TL/DR -- check that the institution number and the institution name match.
You do NOT have to give eBay/MP your SIN.
You may have to provide a printed statement, which is a pain because most banks are not doing that anymore . (TD and Simplii/CIBC do). The printouts you can get from a teller do not have your name on them because: the teller is handing it to you and it's not necessary,eh?
The manager at TD gave us a letter which she signed telling eBay that the account wasn't at her bank.
We used the Chat not the phone.
Those reps know they will be providing a transcript of the conversation. They also seem to be well-informed.
And you know there is a Wednesday forum with tyler on the Canada Board, right? He's not fast but he will never knowingly mislead you.

My money is just bouncing back - something is blocking the deposits. CIBC is absolutely sure its not them; they assure me they would never block a deposit. WHat ebay agents are saying is that the info I gave them does not match with the info the bank has given them. But they are some specific about what info that is. I never got a succssful deposit - payouts are sent, and rapidly blocked. At which point I am asked to change or vefify my bank info. I have done this for two months now. Am about to have a nervous breakdown. I do not know what ebay has, or how they imput my banking info. I sent them a screenshot of my banking statement in may when I signd up, and I have never again spoken to someone who can see the entire information / account number, etc. I only have one chequins account, and both ebay and cibc are under my name, spelled the same. I do not know what specific info is causing the glitch

I just spoke to a team leader called Lydia. She informed me that the only issue what that when I set up managed payments in late May, I selected US dollars as currency. My chequings account at the CIBC is based on Canadian currency while ebay deposits are in US currency. THis is why the ebay transfers are blocked. According to her, I need a US FUNDS chequings account, so I just opened one now. Let's hope this works. Thank you.
