Managed payment signup not working, customer support cannot help

Hello all, I have spoken with customer support at least 4 times about this and I have continued to have no resolve.

I am not able to list items until I register for managed payments. When I try to sign up for managed payments it prompts me to update my details. 

The first screen asks me to enter my address, phone number, and name. 

I have tried this at least 50 times, on every different browser I can think of. I have used different details and spellings...Tried basically everything and each time I get this error:

"Something went wrong. Check everything is right below."


None of the customer support folks have been able to help. I finally got to a 'level 2' guy and he said he couldnt figure it out and  had to submit a ticket to me to some form of high authorities...He said they would contact me in 48 hours. It's been 2 weeks and have still heard nothing.

I assume my only option is making a new account?

Amazingly, I just found the solution in another thread, which everyone seems to agree works.

Change the country code in the phone number to Canada, even if you live in US.


Amazing how a company with 10B in revenue gets stuff this wrong. Yikes.

@vistav6,

 

Are you entering a street address, not a PO Box? PO Boxes are not accepted; something to do with identification requirements, where they have to record where you actually live, even if you don't get mail delivery there.

@vistav6, is your registration address or your bank account in Canada?

 

Could you give a link to the other thread? I'd like to read up on the information provided there.
