Hi everyone,
I know this is talked about a lot here, but I just need clarification and understanding. I have been selling on Ebay for many years, 10 years ago I was well established here, much of my FB has fallen off, but I used to know how things worked. I've been updating and reading and yet I don't quite understand what is happening with my sale.
Ebay has informed me they are holding my payment for a month. This is what I got.
I used Ebay shipping, the address that was given, mailed the next morning with tracking, verified my bank account etc. When I sent a sale invoice message I did mention making sure the address is correct-I have always done that. Tracking says the item delivered has been picked up at the post office. I have another sale today, but I just want to figure this out before I dive into that one too.
Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

did you contact the buyer to make sure they entered the correct zip code on their account?

I asked about the address as a whole. I didn't know I had to ask specifics of each part of the address. Is this new? Every time we should ask about the zip code😳

No, I never ask, I just mail to the address that says OK to ship, but bc u stated a problem with the zip code, I thought maybe the buyer incorrectly input their zip code on their shipping address account.

You should never ask a buyer if they received it. If they have it then they know you don't know- if you don't know then it puts a bee in their bonnet-if tracking shows it's been delivered to a different zip code they can get their money back.
Trust me, don't contact the buyer. If they haven't received it you'll be hearing from them.
ABOUT ZIP CODES :
Is it a zipcode nearby the buyer? USPS says a single zipcode can represent multiple zip codes within a region.if the first three digits are the same you should be fine,

I just checked tracking and didn't even notice until I compared and oh SH*T. Looks like USPS delivered to another Zip Code but I printed the one on his account-obviously. I don't get it? Because tracking listed it that way, I am being penalized. Looks like the same place to me, just how they list the zips in this collage area I guess. At least I know, I didn't quite understand. A months wait now-That is crazy.
Thank you for pointing that out. Any advice to speed it up?

No, I haven't and wouldn't contact them. The Zip is the same place. I don't know if USPS recently changed it and this person didn't, but it's the same place for sure. Tracking states it's been picked up. I left FB but haven't received it yet😬 and yes the first 3 digits are the same. Thanks.

Yeah, I thought that too, but everything I found mentioned a week or at the most 2, not a month. Seems there is a zip code issue maybe.

For new sellers or sellers returning to selling after 90+ days away, they fall under the same policy for a 21 day hold.

As to your zip code problem. Just craft a nice, polite email to your buyer. Let them know that tracking shows they received the item [do NOT mention a zip code issue] and you were just checking in to see if they needed any further or assistance. Or something similar that expresses your desire for good customer service. Don't as about zip code issue, don't use the word "problem" in the email. No words that denote something negative. All bright and cheery, short and sweet, displaying your wonderful customer service.

Not needed. The buyer just left steller feedback. That alone should be enough for Ebay, but looks like I'll need to wait it out-Don't know how to contact them over this.

I get it that this is your opinion, but that doesn't mean that Ebay shares your position or that they will release your funds. I'd certainly try if I were in your place, just remember they may not do that yet. Did you read the links I gave you above?
