I have a hold on my payment because eBay deemed it "suspicious" that I started selling on their platform. Isn't that the point, though?
Has anyone else had a hold on their payment for the same reason? If so, what happened?

As a new seller, you are subject to payment holds up to thirty days, Ebay prefers that any refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs. I imagine the 'suspicious' part comes in because you sold two expensive LV bags, and Ebay wants to make sure those bags were authentic, with no buyer complaints, before releasing your funds.

You have had your account for a bit more than a year, but you have never used it until now. You haven't made any purchases at all, and no sales until this month. So you are considered a "new seller' and all new sellers are subject to payment holds. (So are occasional sellers, BTW). So payment holds should be expected, until you have shown that you can sell successfully, without any disappointed buyers.
In addition to that, the two items you sold this week are both expensive, highly-counterfeited designer handbags. Your titles had virtually no information other than "preowned Louis Vuitton handbag" and your descriptions had no more information. One of them only had 2 photographs, and the other one had a few more, but did not show any of the details that are necessary to identify a real handbag from a counterfeit. I'm rather surprised that you were allowed to list them like that.
BTW, did your buyers choose the Authenticity Guarantee? Are you shipping directly to the buyers, or to the AG inspection location?
Also, have they both been paid for already?

You also sold those two very expensive LV bags at rock bottom prices, that alone made it 'suspicious' to Ebay.
