Managed payment & No-Fee PO Box

Greetings!

So Iive in a small rural community where USPS does not offer home delivery but gives every resident a no-fee post office box. The po box becomes my legal address and is even on my driver's license.  Unfortunately, eBay will not recognize po boxes with the new managed payment, nor will they accept your physical address as it is not a 'legal postal address'. Quite the dilemma!

I spoke with my postmistress and she told me that here, at least, the physical address of the post office is a legal address, just add your po box # to it. (make sure you use #, not suite or unit). She gave me XXXXX Hwy 299 E for the address. Well, that didn't work  I tried CA-299 E but no. I used a lowercase e, no. I put the E next to 299, still no.

Today I was reading an email from a grocery store in the next larger town that has an address on 299 E. It had spelled out East, so I did that. Ebay still said it wasn't a legal postal address BUT gave me an alternative addree which read: XXXXX State Highway 299 E. I checked to use that and BINGO, it worked so I could moveon to the next page.

I suggest if you are having problems verifying to first check with your post office to confirm that the post office address is a legal address. Then, use it. If eBay rejects, play around with abbreviations and spelling and maybe eBay will give you an alternative address that works.

eBay customer service and tech support are worthless. Probably because they are located outside the US and could care less about home delivery, etc.

Oh,and I read on another post that the name on your checking account and your name at eBay must match. If you have included a middle name or initial on one or the other but not both, add it.

Hope this helps. It is soooo frustrating!!!!!!

Do you have a 911 address you can use?

Have a great day.

Re: Managed payment & No-Fee PO Box

If you call emergency number 911 for fire, police, or ambulance, you want them to come to your house not to your Post Office.

Re: Managed payment & No-Fee PO Box

I am having the same issue, but my post office is not even in the USPS database.  I have no problem with my bank, the IRS, Fedex, UPS.  But because Ebay relies solely on the USPS database, I cannot sell unless I enter a fake address.

A fake address won't do any good, unless it's on your checking account also.

Have a great day.
