Managed Payments - The way we get paid now - Very sad state of affairs - Unhappy Extremely Unhappy

They just changed the way we get paid - I moved 80% of what I had on eBay to another site - If a buyer pays you it is days to process and then days to get paid putting a delay in shipping to my buyers I use to ship same day or next morning I updated and not happy at all not having fast payments - I'm still listing a few things till I find another place that works with paypal  People here locally said they are going to stop shopping on eBay Dark days a head  - we are forced to except this way of doing business - I had zero problem with Paypal fee's

I'm just putting my two cents on here

I have even done graded my store and stopped International sales people do not like waiting

This is what I have on everything I have listed now

My eBay  Page Now Has The Following ::::::::::

eBay's New Managed Payments Has Impacted Our Shipping Policy
I can no longer ship same or next day - eBay now handles payments - You pay - eBay controls the money -  it is day's before it is in my bank account - I will not ship any item - till money is in my bank account -  There is no instant payment through paypal as of this month 1/2021 - You get my phone number when you buy- I will let you know the day your payment is in my hands [ My account ]  and I will ship the day it is in my bank account - not until. I thank all of you for your business - - the day's of fast shipping are over - I have no control over it. I have already moved 1/2 my items to another auction site and will  be selling on my own website as well starting 2/2021  and limiting what I list on eBay. - If your ok with these terms - then you may buy - all sellers are being forced into managed payments. - Thank you for your understanding.

Youre welcome. You can choose to pay for the shipping label either from your  Paypal account or by drawing off the pending funds that Ebay has received from your buyer. As soon as Ebay gets the buyers payment you can use those funds to buy the shipping label.

You do have to say which payment to make. Its a choice at the bottom of the shipping label form. Once you have made your payment choice it will stay that way for future shipments too unless you want to change it back for some reason.

Thank you for your point of view - you do business your way and I will stick to mine - nothing ships till I'm paid - it is very simple I lay out enough money with other things with my restoration business - I'm not doing it on here to - I'm not bank of America

In the business world, where funds are usually transferred from either a processor or a bank, there is often a delay between when a customer pays and when it hits your bank account.    That is just the way the world works.  Managed Payments adds a few days but once they are paid by a buyer you are good to go.  Holding off shipping the item sold is not going to change the inevitable deposit of the funds into your account. But say hey, if you want to show a one week shipping & handling time then go for it.  But I suspect your sales may drop off a bit.  You do sell the sort of items that usually are not urgent so maybe you can get away with it and do business your way.  But I must say, I have been on MP for nearly two years and have had absolutely no issues and have even opted for funds to be transferred once a week.

I'll follow what your all saying and try to respond it is on my page and will stay there.

I'm new to this forum thing you have going - Rookie Here

I miss the paypal nothing more nothing less - now I'll get slow shipping remarks on my star thing

Geez @boxcarcharlie  - you're not selling the same stuff everybody and their dog is selling, people will want YOUR items specifically, and if they know up front that it's 4 or 5 days handling, they'll be cool with it.

Any pointers for changing the handling time?  It's not on the drop down list when I try to edit any of my listings.

TIA

When I see a TOS like this I say to myself, "Geez... I hope this guy is selling the same stuff I'm selling"

You're lucky most buyers don't bother to read the description let alone a rant of a TOS

Can you imagine if Kroger's did that?

You go through the checkout, pay for your groceries, and then get told to come back in a couple of days when your payment clears.

No business gets paid immediately unless the customer uses cash.

Re: Managed Payments - The way we get paid now - Very sad state of affairs - Unhappy Extremely Unhap

Likely the worst advice I have seen on these boards.  Wow - please don’t put those terms in your listings.  First, your terms don’t override ebays terms.  Second, it makes you look foolish and petty.  Third, you are setting yourself up for INR’s.  Fourth, no all customers will read the dreamland TOS, and you’ll have upset buyers.

Re: Managed Payments - The way we get paid now - Very sad state of affairs - Unhappy Extremely Unhap

If you leave same day or 1 day shipping on your listings, and then you don't ship for 4 or 5 days, your performance metrics will suffer. Your customers will file and win "item not received" claims against you based on the same day or 1 day shipping that you say you offer, you will have to start paying an extra 5% final value fee when you sell something as a result of your performance metrics being reduced.

Your extra long disclaimer on your listings doesn't mean anything, eBay rules are the only ones that count.  If you lose business, it's not because of managed payments, it's because your performance dropped and people will run away from a seller with that kind of language in their listing.

Re: Managed Payments - The way we get paid now - Very sad state of affairs - Unhappy Extremely Unhap

Well I wasn't going to reply last night I had work to do

Out of respect and good advice from  itsjustasprain

and a very good point from candd205

I feel it was a respectful thing to do - My view:

eBay has **bleep** everyone off on this matter - the business practice is no different then that of

a Third World Dictatorship and  Borders  Communalist Rule [ You are told what you can do - eat drink and when

to poop ] - we are a Nation of free ideas and choice  -  and yes freedom is not clearly represented well in here

eBay's realm  of  hypocrisy - they tell you what you can sell and what you can't sell - all the time chipping away

at freedom - setting , once again,  you may even say monarchy of sort's - everything we are supposed to stand

for has once again turned to those who control everything .

Your views and ideas were debated well, - and the above two sellers I thanked rose above the rest in this

debate of minds. That is what is great about our country we can listen to each other - debate our differences

still tell each other to PO and all the while the one who divided us and brought about this grand conversion

still gets away with their Communist rule . - lastly for the Seller with the TOS comment  people will read

what is written [ Social Media is prime example - you are all on here talking away - Point proven}

So, I bid you farewell - for a day -  maybe more  -for I must return my meager business - The Queens tax

collector will be calling.

If that statement is reported you may find yourself in trouble w ebay for providing a negative buying experience.

Your issue w payment collection from the venue are not your buyers concern nor should it be.It is your choice to wait until the money is transferred to your bank.

Thank you for your input - my statement clearly show 's and justifiable so WHY my shipping has changed - it is the truth  and reason for my shipping policy changes - Truth matters and clearly stating why My shipping policy has changed - I would argue the point you made - holds no merit and no basis for sanction on me selling on eBay - I have therefore made a clear and understandable point as to why I have changed my shipping policy and reason for it. You comment holds no merit on any level - my buyers are use to me doing certain things and they pay well for that product and service - I run my business and terms my way - I have for 40 + years - my buyers demand the best - and while I sell rare items those buyers take time to look around eBay for other items - so be grateful my friend sellers like myself bring money people on eBay and be grateful sellers like myself buy everyday easy to find products - the money I earn from this is spent on eBay - I buy a lot of stupid stuff on eBay for repurpose into my restorations - my art work and my builds - in these trying times people should be grateful for those who can spend their money on eBay - so if eBay wants to cut off the hands of those who spend then fine and so be it - I and others can spend our money in auction houses - choose your words wisely - it is buyers with money who keep eBay running and you making a living. there are plenty of other websites to sell on with what I sell and the work I do I have no shortage of money or talent along with rare items again your comment holds no merit Thank you Stay Safe Be Happy

Here is the facts on your statement

-----------------

I'm still waiting for my money

--------------

With paypal it was in my bank account with in min's of transfer

Hands down paypal has the best and fastest way to do business

when I buy from suppliers [ Big Business - not eBay - I buy from specialty wholeaslers not open to general public - they only take paypal  ] they only use paypal when I need parts for my watch and clock repair part of my business.

As I work on expanding my restoration business world wide and my site is back up running I will only use paypal nothing else when I start selling off my own website again next month it will be only paypal - I trust them and so do my buyers - the fee's are nothing to me and I'm happy to pay it

I live in the real world and run my business my way and so do my client's and they pay good money for perfect professional services

I'm one of a hand full of people who do real restoration work. and I'm **bleep** good at and won't be dictated to

Thank you for your comments - I get back to work here - Time is money and I don't have time to waste.

Stay Safe

You must have some magic wand no one else has!  Managed payments is like letting a kindergartener handle your purse.  Feels like an internal mess to me.  Fortunately, I'm not surviving on my sales.  Don't know how long eBay will keep this cashbox afloat, faster is better, it's all we know!
