Managed Payments Issues

Recently, I enrolled in Ebay Mangeed Payments for sellers because the indicastion was that my selling acount would be limited if I did not switch from Paypal to Managed Payments. I have been very disappointed and frankly, I feel defrauded by Ebay, because I still have not received funds in my account from a sale 3 days ago. I miss Paypal, when I transferred the funds to my bank account myself, and the money was available the next day. I would like to hear from other disgruntled sellers and discuss ways around this inferior system.

Re: Managed Payments Issues

There are so many choices out there for selling one's items...one does not have to give up selling on line...there is more to online selling than eBay....just do your research and find what is best for your needs...

I am happily selling elsewhere and it's easier than you think!(a whole lot easier than eBay)...

there is life after and beyond eBay...

Re: Managed Payments Issues

I absolutely 100% HATE the new managed payments system!  It takes forever to get my money especially if you sell stuff late on Thursday or Friday, don't expect your money till maybe Monday, in the mean time I am eating all the shipping costs on the stuff I sell all weekend because I do not want to make my customers wait days to ship to their stuff!

I also really have not seen any big savings on my selling fees and I still have a monthly invoice for my store costs.

It's just all around terrible!

I am checking into other selling sites so I can just jump ship with Ebay.  I have my listing cross listed on Bonanza and they sales have picked up some there, so that might be where I am headed.

Re: Managed Payments Issues

This poorly constructed payment system is going to break me.  Sales from Friday are still not in my account on Tuesday and eBay has a million bucks in float that should be in the seller's accounts within 24 hours of receipt, not days later.  THIS IS NOT MY BANK'S PROBLEM.  This is eBay being slow as hell sending out our payments.  MY PRODUCT IS REACHING THE SELLER BEFORE I SEE A DIME?   Geezus, eBay - you are killing the folks who sustain your business.  I want next day turnaround on those funds seven days a week, and I want those funds queued up for posting to my bank Monday morning from transactions completed Friday through Sunday like PayPal used to do.  This new payment processing SUCKS.   The pattern now is that I get payments Wed - Friday only, which can be up to 5 days after the sale.  How do you expect us to manage our business funding like this?  Idiots...

Re: Managed Payments Issues

AFTER 23 YEARS AS EBAY SELLER, I REFUSE TO DO MANAGED PAYMENTS, GIVING EBAY UNLIMITED ACCESS TO MY BANK ACCT...CASE IN POINT...WHEN I KNEW I WAS QUITTING, I WENT TO CANCEL  EXISTING BIDS ON MY ITEMS BEFORE  AUCTIONS ENDED, BECAUSE EBAY HAD SAID I WOULD NOT GET PAID UNLESS I SIGNED FOR MANAGED PAYMENTS ...A WINDOW COMES UP SAYING FINAL VALUE FEE WILL BE CHARGED TO ME IF I END EARLY....NOW.... I HAVE NOT SOLD ITEM, I HAVE NOT REC*D PAYMENT...WHY WOULD A FINAL VALUE FEE BE AUTOMATICALLY TAKEN FROM MY BANK ACCT....BECAUSE ..... EBAY*S UNLIMITED ACCESS TO AN ACCT....JUST THINK, IF SOMEONE WANTED TO FILTER $1.00 FROM 22 MILLION ACCTS ( A  FEE HERE, A FEE THERE) ..WHO WOULD PUT UP A FUSS ABOUT A DOLLAR....I DO HATE TO LEAVE EBAY ON A SOUR NOTE, BUT I FEEL BIG BROTHER IS ON COMMAND MODE...

If you scroll down on the page where you print the shipping label, it will allow you to choose whether to deduct the funds from PayPal or from your pending payments. If you choose pending payments, it will just take the money out of the amount you were paid for those sales.

Yeah, these greedy fools have run off all my favorite sellers.  Thanks a lot eBay!

Poshmark and Mercari are much more seller-friendly than Ebay,

Hardly. On Mercari at least, the money doesn't even get released to you until the buyer receives the item and rates it.

Are sellers really shipping their item before they get the money to their account? This will be my first experience with managed payments and so far, it seems, it makes the buyer wait longer.

Idk but on Amazon, as soon as I print the shipping label. The net amount (after fees are subtracted automatically) goes into my total balance. I ship the customers order. No extended handling time. Orders ship in 1 business days. Every Sunday afternoon, I receive notification from Amazon that my payment is transferring to my bank. By Tuesday 12:01am its in my account. I have been doing this for over a year and can safely say I never had a issue. If this is the same concept eBay is doing, I don't see why pple are complaining.

Re: Managed Payments Issues

I only sell a few vintage items a month on eBay and have been doing so for about 15 years. The MP scares me  for a number of reasons. You mentioned that you are selling elsewhere. Just wondering if you might be able to share what venue you chose. Thanks.

Re: Managed Payments Issues

very disgruntled. I changed to managed payments - nightmare. Ebay seem to keep the money for up to 5 days in transit to the bank account and why is this when paypal could provide it immediately. The breakdown is also non existent when the payment is made to the bank account I have no idea what it is for without going backwards and forwards to ebay to check and then I am not really sure. Can we have a list of what items have been paid out and the fees on the payment list to the bank? A disappointing change which has clearly not been thought through and I guess is just about the bottom line!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Managed Payments Issues

AN UPDATE.......For those that don't know, if a customer opens any type of case (mine opened one for not receiving the item (it was still in transit)) Ebay puts a hold on the money amount for new items you've sold!

I had a hold for $35.00 for over a week till the item showed as delivered.

What a freaking nightmare this is going to be over the holidays!  I am a top rated seller, never had any issue with a customer not receiving a purchase and yet they still put the hold on MY money!

This whole managed payments is nothing but a big SCAM!

Re: Managed Payments Issues

On April 28 and 29 I sold for $1000 on ebay. It was the first time I made transactions without using Paypal since I was obliged to. Since May 5th I am in contact with ebay customer service because MY MONEY has not been transferred to my bank account. I was told that all the necessary information that I had to transmit to ebay was correctly indicated and that the problem was in the ebay system. A team had to work to correct this situation. Today is May 14 and nothing has changed. The only answer I get is to be patient. >BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE THINKING OF SELLING ON EBAY. I have been an ebay member for 21 years. I have never had a problem with my customers, I have never had a problem with Paypal. What a shame that a company like ebay is not more reliable than that to manage OUR MONEY.

Re: Managed Payments Issues

I hate the new way. I used to have payment as soon as the buyer clicked the pay now button. I then had the money to pay for shipping or gas or whatever. Greedy greedy greedy!! Who on earth would want to wait 7 days like my 3 items I sold on the 13th but just got into my account a week latter. I will not be selling very expensive items like I used to do for a friend that didn't have time but let me do it so I could earn a couple dollars. One item was $2000 and the last 1 I did which is before they pulled this **bleep** was $898. Now after I have always paid him within a day I have to tell him it is at Ebays whim? I already feel pressured to pay for my items to have more views. GREEDY!
