Managed Payments Fees up 15%

Switched to managed payments in September I think , my fees were always 13-18%.  Last two months 33%.  I know the 3% paypal added on.  What else am I missing ?

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

That figure shown is the TOTAL cost of selling - sale price, tax, shipping costs plus FVF.   Your actual final fee is 30 cents plus 12.whatever % (I forget) unless you are selling in the media categories, where it is 14.whatever%, which is pretty much in line with the old FVF plus Paypal percentages.

FVF and shipping are expenses which are deductible along with cost of goods, supplies, etc.

If you expect anyone to suggest what else you're missing, you might want to supply an actual breakdown of some figures. Community members are good, but they're not mind readers--yet.

It appears my final value fees are way up.  Are they also including sales tax in this now?  That can also be a reason

Yes you now pay the full percentage on Sales Tax rather than just the PayPal part.

BUT

The overall rate rate went down from 10% + 2.9% to 10% + 2.35%, unless the sales tax is more than about 6.5% you MP fees should be lower (by pennies) than with the combo of eBay & PayPal.

I have no idea how you came up with 33% unless your average sale price is just a couple of Dollars.

Maybe you could provide an example?

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

There is a 30 cent per transaction fee in MP just like there was in PP.  So make sure you don't count that when you are trying to see the percentage you are being charged or it can make the result significantly incorrect especially on lower $$ value items.

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

Are you below standard rating and being charged more because of it? Also some kind of tax could be added which is the norm these days. Can you give a break down of a transaction and show the fees being charged?

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

Well above standard , was top rated.  I ship large heavy items (high shipping costs) but my deductions were typically 13-18% on PayPal and now 27-33% on managed payments

That isn't the screen to determine what the fees in MP are.  That screen contains ALL your Ebay fees.  Store fees, listing upgrades, promotional fees etc., along with your FVFs.  My post up thread just a couple posts is how the MP fees work.  Those others fees aren't MP fees.

For your MP fees you can go to your Seller Hub, Payment tab and then All transactions to see the details.

Now if you did venture into Below Standard status as a seller, that does carry a 5% penalty tacked onto your normal FVF.  You need to go take a peek at your Seller Dashboard to see what your status is.  Or your Service Metrics rating to see if that has caused additional fees due to too many INADS.

Then somewhere along the line you are still misunderstanding something.

YOu haven't answered the questions presented to you yet in my post 9.  And another poster asked you the same thing.  It would help to have those answers.

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

Check to see if that % doesn't include shipping costs.......obviously isn't a "fee"..........

That 33% shown in your image is your total fees divided by your total sales.

FVF is a percentage of total sale price + shipping + sales tax.  If your shipping costs are high, then dividing your fees by just the selling price is going to trendously inflate that percentage.

Re: Managed Payments Fees up 15%

There goes Ebay’s promise of lower fees, they never sleep, they always think how to stick it to us even more, trickstery at it’s best. They truly trying to grab it all at once this time and at the expense of good hard working people who are trying to make their ends meet during pandemic . Very sad!
