Holding payments

I’ve been a Seller since 2003 (and buyer) with 100% feedback and hundreds of items bought and sold. I’m not a high volume seller but do go through spurts where I’ll have items to sell over a course of a few weeks then take a break. Their hold funds policy for loyal responsible sellers is not ethical. EBay holding my payments and stating that I’m considered a “new” seller because I don’t sell as much as they require is wrong. Does eBay think that a seller with 20+ years and 100% feedback is going to scam the customer?! My question is where is my interest for all their customers that have their monies put on hold by eBay because of this backwards policy? eBay needs to get back to basics, stop with these ridiculous policies.
Ebays fees have also got out of control. I sold an item for $199.00 eBay took out $27.00 in fees! That’s almost 14%, seriously?

Additionally I had a buyer who ended up being a kid who harassed me in the EBay message and I had no way to report or block.
iI seems eBay is still focused on squeezing the seller and not doing enough to protect the seller as well. After seeing and experiencing all these issues I’m thinking of leaving EBay all together and just sell locally.

Hi Bryan

Everything changes, including Ebay.

New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices. This helps sellers become established and build a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically experience holds for up to 14 days, although sometimes it may be longer.

You agree to these terms when you sign up.  This backs the Ebay Money Back Guarantee.  It is to ensure that the transaction went positively and in the event of returns due to Not as Described or Item never received, the funds are there to refund the buyer.

Ebay wants to make sure the customer has a positive experience and outcome.  Once you start accumulating some more sales, you'll get your money quicker.

Enjoy the day and the New Year.

Semper Fi.

You are considered a new or Infrequent seller and from your feedback I agree. Being a long time member and having 100% feedback has no baring on Managed Payments.

Your selling history is inconsistant. So yes your payments are on hold.

Yes fees are deducted from your payments BEFORE they are paid out.

There is a way to block unwanted buyers Click the link below You can also find it in your seller hub under short cuts.

Buyer Management | eBay

There are videos posted in this forum under Self Help Videos to understand seller fees take a look and educate yourself please . Or read the policies. Everything is spelled out for you in plain English.

Annoucing your leaving is nice but not necessary.

Good bye

20 years on ebay and only 199 feedbacks. Sorry, you are considered "new".  This hold is also a security thing.  Sometimes an older seller dies and the kids or spouse or neighbor take over the account and start scamming buyers.  So ebay wants to make sure that you are really you and not a bad person.  Hang in there.  Start to sell more frequently and eventually, there will be no holds. Do NOT take it personally.  They are doing this to everyone that comes back to sell. Goodluck.

Oh yes, have you signed into Managed Payments?  If ebay asked for your social security number and/or a valid ID, did you provide it?  Please do so if you want to see your funds.

The items you sold were against ebay policy anyways.

You do not own the legal right to sell virtual Roblox items.

Kinda hard to blame ebay when you neglect to follow rules and laws.

Lift your left leg at midnight to start off on the right foot. Happy new Year!

Could it have anything to with selling digital items you don't own?

Are you approved to sell digital items?

Want to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Independence Day.
