I purchased 5 gift cards from CVS pharmacy two days ago for a total of 1000$. However, I got scammed so I'm trying to check balances of the cards, just in case. My husband had stocks in this company and he just closed them today, he's that upset. Is eBay turned into a scam company now? I need to be refunded, as I know eBay has the funds to protect your customers. I suppose now I have to go to Rumble and let my followers know what eBay is really about.
I expect this to be fixed within 24 hours.

You bought gift cards to pay for something that was listed elsewhere, not on eBay.
You gave the card numbers to the scammer who redeemed them instantly.
I feel sorry for what has happened to you, but why, exactly, are you blaming eBay for it?

How exactly were you scammed? There is no eBay protection if this transaction took place outside of eBay and eBay will not provide a refund.

You found the car (vehicle) on facebook or Craigslist and you got cheated by a scammer from facebook or Craigslist. EBay had nothing to do with this transaction. It wasn't listed on eBay and you communicated through e-mail with the scammer who sent you fake messages through e-mail not through eBay. Sorry this happened to you, it's a common scam, but eBay had nothing to do with it.

scammers pretend to be eBay, even the phone number they give you goes to the scammers, not eBay and ask for gift cards to buy cars, RV'S, boats, pets, motorcycles, you name it they are scamming it. The sad part is people who do get scammed blame the real eBay and not the harry dude in Eastern Europe who does this for a living. Scams happen every day, wake up people.

When you sent someone a bunch of gift card codes, you weren't being an eBay customer. You were just being a victim of a scam that did not involve eBay. Some scammers ask for iTunes cards; if you had bought them, would you be blaming Apple?
"Scam company"? Because you got taken for a ride outside of eBay? Seriously? And you want them to pay you? For what? Being gullible?

If you found an item on another site and they said Ebay will handle the transaction and you paid with gift cards, sorry, the money is gone.
You can report the ad to the site you found it on and file a police report, but it won't get your money back.

Because they can, and because it couldn't possibly be their fault.
I'm sure they'll get a lot of support from their followers on "Rumble", whatever that is.

Upon reading all these comments, I did not see anywhere stating that there was a way to check the card balances.
Per say when I got screwed I went online fo check the balance on ebay card bought everytime I put the redemption code in an clicked check it come back in red stating it could not find the card number to recheck it.
Does this mean it's been used and gone or what??

There is an online balance checker on the eBay gift card FAQ page:
https://pages.ebay.com/giftcard/faqs.html
Unfortunately, scammers do not wait around to cash in the gift card codes they obtain -- they spend the money immediately to prevent the user from spending the money first once the user realizes that it is a scam.

same thing happened to me I bought the cards like a dummy and gave them the info, but you would think that at least ebay would be able to show that the balance had been used

The balance checker will show you what you already know: the money has been spent.
Or just try to use the card to make a purchase yourself; you will get an error that the card has already been used.

Gift cards are not traceable, or refundable..thats why scammers love them.
