This is now the third time in a week this has happened so please let me know if I'm a little off.....well I'm am really **bleep** off for one. eBay has withheld funds when the buyer reports the package has no been delivered by the stated time.....Ebays stated time. Why is eBay trying to tell the buyer when a package gets there. YOU NEED TO STOP THIS! Stick to running your business....You don't know shipping. Your also not a bank so quit withholding funds upon first inquire of where a package is. Buyers seem to be filing these request the day of or one day after if their package isn't there. eBays tracking status on the order details page is different than the tracking on www.USPS.com. We are in the holiday season in the middle of a pandemic that is now off the chain. THINGS ARE GONNA BE A LITTLE LATE. I've been shipping for 15 years and have never seen it this bad. STOP HOLDING FUNDS AND PADDING YOUR POCKETS WITH THE INTEREST.....NOW I KNOW WHY MANAGED PAYMENTS IS HERE. WHAT A JOKE. THIS IS HOW YOU INCREASE YOUR VALUE TO YOUR SHARE HOLDERS.

When dealing with PP instead of MP the same thing (funds hold) would happen for many when an INR was initiated.

As to the "estimated" dates......................   I agree.  "Crazy town" to be showing buyers unrealistic dates.    Then again, buyers should have a bit of common sense. Something that is no longer that "common" since the advent of "same day" , and other fast delivery services touted by many online sites.  Buyers want it, and expect it.

We can't extend our handling times.  When we do that, they are either ignored, as "historical data" is used, or the estimate moves out so far that sales "flat line".

Unrealistic for sure especially under the current circumstances.  I changed my handling time but as you said it may not matter.

I use click and drop and last week when l spoke to a lady at royal mail she said that they are at crisis point. She stated that they are worse this time round than the first lockdown with no end in sight. Not what l wanted to hear. Orders are sometimes taking 10 - `14 days and l am getting cases added every day. ebay ignore the tracking number because click and drop don't always update their tracking systems and so the buyer gets the refund and a few days later get to enjoy my property. ebay turn a blind eye to that one. working on sorting my own website in the new year as l have had enough.

But anyway...  yeah, what you describe isn't right.

I just got my "invite" to MP...  and I'm scared!! It's not good timing either! (like, couldn't this wait until jan?).

dont go to managed payments .. im in it .. a joke takes up to 10 days to refund customers even though ive sent it but ebay holds it by offering echeques to the customer .. oits take upto 5 days to get payment and in most cases the customer as ask to return the goods before their paid for .. and their chargers are hidden away .. your charge 36p per transaction rather than 30p in paypal ..  and 8.9 % in my case plus taxes were before it was a flat 8.7 % running ebay fees upto 14% of each sale .. biggest rip of going and until youve refunded and its gone through any feedback left in a negative way will not be removed until then as still shows as a open case .. please be aware that ebay will refund the buyer the way the buyer paid so apple pay and will then apply to your back to fund this and not the money they are holding ..  so you will have money owing all over and no idea as ive just found out theyve taken money out of paypal / my bank and my wifes bank .. and not just the one they have on record as they applied to paypal to refund a customer so theyve then applied to my wifes bank and so on

What the heck?!?!?!?!?  That surely is a total nightmare!  

I'd be seriously hosed in that situation. Financially (sadly), I'm currently hanging on by a thread!

So the kinds of delays I'm reading about ... along with other shenanigans described, I'm simply

in no position. I've got no "padding"! 

My concern is that if I delay registering, my sales will suffer (you know, as a punishment).

The invite says I have until 12/31. What to do?

OH! Almost forgot...  Did you open a separate bank account to be used only for eBay & MP?

(I think that would be necessary to offer some protection)

halochampion98 stated it exactly correct.  I will add my listings do NOT say estimated delivery date, they say GUARANTEED delivery date, which is published by EBAY, not me. I have multiple packages not received by the EBAY published Guaranteed delivery date and as soon as the buys merely asks a questions, the funds are immediately put on hold.  This was not the case with Paypal, perhaps since I have been using Ebay and Paypal since the beginning so maybe I was grandfathered in, but funds were never withheld with Paypal in my case.  Managed payments has no benefits I can see, and with Paypal funds are immediate, Managed payments funds are pending for a few days.  I call to complain every time I have funds withheld I'm getting sick and tired of it. As long as there is a tracking number provided, there is no reason to withhold funds as there is absolutely nothing I can do about it anyway.  The package arrives eventually.

Yes, please... if you are going to delve into the "managed payment" situation on ebay definitely open a separate bank account and keep the balance to a minimum in case all concerned get hacked, etc.  Sellers big and small  have too much to lose today on here!

Good luck should you decide to enter Managed Payments...by the way NEVER let ebay threaten you for ANY reason...there are lots of friendlier sites to sell on.
